BUT, but- no guys, hear me out, consider this. During one of Tim’s episodes -I was thinking this is years after, already going through his Red Robin character growth- it triggers after a long, long, time. How it started is up to your interpretation. But, instead of Jason being the first one to find him during his episode, no, it’s Duke Thomas.
THINK ABOUT IT!! Guys, the man already witnessed his parents go mad from Joker Venom, can you imagine how he’d react seeing someone else he considers his family show signs of being Jokerized!? THE POTENTIAL!!
And like, of course he’s not going to know about the JJ stuff and already assume the worst. Other members can get involved too, but image the scare Duke -alone- would have upon first witnessing Tim’s episode!

Summary
Batman knows who Hood is. Disregarding the fact that he hasn’t told anybody about his suspicions (a discovery, it’s been long enough it qualifies as a concrete discovery), even though not telling people things about Jason is what got him and Dick into an enormous fight last time, he still hasn’t removed Jason’s codes from the system. Tim checked, back when he was still uncertain if his whole deduction was just paranoia.
It’s not. Batman knew who Jason was, he knew all the reasons why he’d have a grudge against him, he moved Tim into a distant, defenseless location, and he practically threw the door wide open.
So it’s not that far a leap, really. Tim is good at evidence. And the evidence says Batman doesn’t really care if he dies, not if killing him gets it out of Jason’s system. Not if it means his real Robin gets to come home.

“Be my apprentice,” Icarus blurted.
Tommy blinked. Gradually, the corners of his mouth dropped into the deepest frown he’d ever made. “What the fuck? Why?”
“Why?” Icarus froze and Tommy raised a judgemental eyebrow. “It’s because of your powers.”
“My powers,” he echoed. “I never told you whether or not I had powers.”
“I can… sense them,” Icarus bullshitted. Tommy pinched the bridge of his nose.
“Right. What are they, then,” he retorted.
“Uh… super… powers,” the villain answered, sounding more unsure of himself by the second.
Tommy wanted to bash his head against a wall. “Really? That’s the best you could do?”

Tommy isn’t sure why handing someone their keys is such a big deal, but now he’s left with a huge problem: Every supervillain in the city wants him to be their apprentice!

Summary
Tommy remembers a time where he idolized the heroes on the screens. He remembers a time where his breath would fog up the glass on Christmas morning as he stared at a window with toys. Heroes monetized. Tommy hadn't thought much about it when he was little, when he had stars in his eyes with the hope that he'd crawl his way out of the slums.
It would've been better if Tommy had never existed in the first place.
Freefall was dead.
He should stop falling back on those habits.

“That’s all I’m hearing nowadays. If that’s a compliment, do better.” A true laugh finally gets drawn from Siren, the man dropping his head to shake it slightly in mirth. It’s a rich sound. It reminds Tommy of church organs, just so very faintly.
“Strange then, if interesting isn’t good enough for you. Fascinating.” The villain takes another draw from the cigarette. “Surprising and infuriating.”
“Not annoying?”
“That would have been the next word. But not many protect villains from their hero mentors.”Or
Tommy is both the sidekick and ward of Dream, helping the man with hero work unwaveringly, but one meeting with a villain who saves him begins the breakdown of the world as he knows it.
