The memory of Fallen is a funny thing. No one remembers much of their time Before, or if they do, they do not speak much of it, at least not any more. Wouldn’t be right, demons going around reminiscing about Heaven and what they lost.
Crowley categorizes his own memories in three different groups.
The things he has forgotten that he wishes to remember.
The things he will lie about remembering, or more accurately lie about not remembering.

Summary
Crowley kept a dog, once. Long ago. He’d named her God, officially, in a show of blasphemy he’s always felt turned out to be unintentionally complimentary heavenward. God was three years old and well over one hundred pounds when Crowley found her. She lived another nine years after that. Not bad for a dog that size.
She may as well have been a mayfly. May as well have been a sneeze, a blink, the instant between a scraped knee and a child’s cry. The split second between lost it already? and gave it away!, the moment between I and we.

Or; Heaven and Hell isn't so easily thrown of their tail and the time before Retribution isn't anywhere near as long as they had hoped.

TW: In regards to tags, if you are on the fence, I want to clarify that there are no graphic depictions of self harm, and no graphic depictions of abuse. In dialogue and narrative they are alluded to, and talked about, but descriptive violence is a minimum, relegated to consequential injury due to mostly stupidity. Discretion is honored, a free choice, and respected!

Hermann, Newton types, tell me you’ve crawled out from under your rock for long enough to realize your disdain for monster movies is now scientifically invalid.

Summary
A year after the events of Pacific Rim, Hermann Gottlieb rejoins the PPDC and finds it has changed drastically in his absence. He and Newton Geiszler are asked to pilot the Jaeger Occam's Razor, despite physical and mental handicaps that should bar them from becoming Rangers. The world is shifting violently in the absence of Kaiju, and the new Jaeger program is formed with questionable motives. Even as the k-sci boys struggle to understand their feelings for each other and where they fit into a system torn by revolt, they must also deal with the lingering presence of the Kaiju hivemind and a new wave of monsters completely different than any that came before.
