He’s not going to sit by while Derek Fucking Hale farts around pretending like he knows what the hell he’s doing. It’s not like Derek has a good track record of keeping himself safe without Stiles’ help anyway, how the hell is he supposed to protect Scott too.
No, if the pack doesn’t want him, then so be it. Stiles will just have to protect the town on his own.

When he gets a late night call from Scott, saying Derek has been taken, he's on the road back to Beacon Hills in less than ten minutes.
