Adrenaline rushes through his veins, reminding him of the first time he won a game of dodgeball at the orphanage. It reminds him of the first time he shot and killed a man.
He is 12 and he is 28 but never in between.

Summary
Nai stopped stretching and molding the cube and held it out for Vash to see. It wasn’t much of a cube anymore, now having been turned into a long, smooth elongated object. It was relatively thick; smaller than Nai’s forearm for sure, but it still had some heft to it.
Vash swung his arm forward but was pulled back down by Nai’s tendrils, “Okay, so —” He pushed and fought against Nai, but was quickly losing energy, “So, so what are you planning on doing with it then?”
With the hand not holding the once-cube, Nai manifested a large blade on his hand. He brought it to Vash’s chest, forcing Vash to stop all of his struggles. He trailed it down his shirt, occasionally catching on the fabric and tearing holes, until he stopped right above Vash’s hips.
“I’m going to put it back where it came from. All you have to do is accept it.”

Summary
Ever since monster-like aliens dubbed as "Plants" invaded Earth, humans have found themselves backed into a corner as the ruthless Plants attack and kill indiscriminately. Forced to live in the middle of the desolate woods in a lonesome cabin with his extended family as they struggle to find food, Vash finds himself struggling more with the unexpected isolation of being away from the city where he grew up, surrounded by the people he loved. Brad and Luida, Vash's guardians, are insistent that Vash never enter the woods alone, for fear of him facing a Plant lurking in the darkness.
Things start looking up for Vash when meets a stranger in the woods named Nai. He knows that if his guardians find out that he snuck out by himself, he'll be as dead as if a Plant found him roaming the forest instead. So he keeps his friendship quiet from them, hoping that straying from their guidance won't turn out too terribly for him.

Summary
If there was thing Nai was certain about, it was that he and Vash were brothers. Sure, Vash was much older than him, and was born on Earth while he was born on the ship, but the bond between the two of them could not be explained in any way other than by true brotherhood. There was no mistaking it. Those differences were nothing to worry about.
Vash's humanity, on the other hand, proves itself to be the real problem between them. Thankfully, Vash being born a human was a simple mistake, one that Nai knew he had to fix, whether Vash wanted him to or not.

Being so close to Vash in the outdoors, Meryl could finally tell that the saccharine floral scent was coming from Vash. She could feel the heat radiating off of him too. “Do you know what’s wrong with you? Is it some weird plant thing?” She asked.
Vash laughed weakly, “Yeah, you could say that. I’ve just never had this happen around anyone else is all.”
Meryl smiled, “Well, don’t worry! I’ll take great care of you.”
Vash stopped moving for a second, and something in his expression shifted, “Oh? You will?” His tone sounded a little odd too, but Meryl blamed it on his illness.
“Yeah! Whatever you need, I’m your girl.”
Vash smiled and Meryl could smell that floral aroma, pungent in the air.
“Take off my coat, then.”

Summary
It was only a two-month mining mission. Vash and his crew would be in and out in no time, with a healthy reward from the Earth government as a job well done. It was set up to be an easy job, traveling through neutral territories to get to the mining site. So when their ship is suddenly commandeered by an alien species, saying that they've trespassed into their territory, Vash, Milly, Meryl, and Wolfwood are shaken to say the least.
It doesn't help that that the species whose taken over their ship are Plants, a mysterious species known for being on friendly terms with only one other group, humanity. The Plants prove to be ever-gracious hosts, providing the crew with an unending supply of food and and upgraded accommodations. If the Plants are a little touchy-feely with them, well, it's a small price to pay, despite Meryl's protests at how weird the whole situation is.
One Plant particular, Knives, has his sights set on Vash, and doesn't seem keen to let anything get in his way.

He immediately reunites with his brother, but this version is older, more experienced, and much more serious than the Nai Vash knows. As odd as this version of his brother seems to Vash, there's familiarity in his piano playing. Even if Knives chooses to wear a strange outfit while doing so.

Vash arrived to the beachside town of July under mysterious circumstances. No memory, no family, just appearing one day on the beach only carrying his name. He was thankful to run into Rem, a kind soul who quickly took to him and gave him a safe home. Years later, Vash has acclimated and is enrolled in the local college that Rem teaches at, enjoying the monotonous day to day life with his friends Meryl and Milly. He even gets the opportunity to meet new people at the school, like Nicholas D. Wolfwood, who showed up to class one day.
Except both Meryl and Milly are convinced that Wolfwood has been part of their friendgroup since the beginning, and even Wolfood seems concerned that Vash doesn't remember him. Vash's week only gets more stressful from there — mysterious pains, exhaustion, mysterious text messages, even graphic hallucinations plague him. The rumors of cults haunting the sleepy town don't do much to help Vash's nerves, either.
But that's nothing compared to the absolute and intense attraction he feels towards Knives, another person that his friends claim he's forgotten all about. But there's no way Vash could ever forget someone like Knives, right?

Summary
Knives spent his last moments on Noman's Land with no regrets. Sure, he regretted some of the methods he used in his attempt to eradicate the human race and to convince Vash face the truth, but he didn't regret what he did. Using the last of his powers to gift an apple tree, Knives was ready for the calming embrace of death. What he wasn't ready for, however, was being abruptly woken up by Vash 150 years ago on SEEDS ship number 5. On the very day he crashed the ships.
Knives is given another chance relive his final day with Vash and Rem aboard the spaceship. He plans to not make the same mistakes in this life as he did the second. He knows exactly how this day will begin and how it will end, but what he doesn't account for is another presence on the ship with them.
