Leorio hated his cousin, Ging. He was a failure of a dad and couldn’t be bothered to watch his own kid for more than three minutes. It was Leorio’s turn to watch the kid now and it wasn’t like he was going to say no. Gon had no where else to go. He could at least let the teen bum on his couch for a few days.
He did not anticipate Gon’s incredible ability to talk to anyone, including his strange and stoic neighbor with the creepy quiet kid. He could have done with out the crazy clown and the gang drama but, hey, anything for family. (Plus that neighbor is cute when he’s not contemplating murderous revenge.)

Edwin’s stomach did another of those undignified little flips. “Why would I want you to bite me?” he asked, confusion outweighing his embarrassment for a moment, even though plenty of experience with Charles and also Crystal had taught him that sometimes asking questions did more to reveal his naivety than to conceal it. He certainly wouldn’t forget the handjob-conversation in a hurry.

Zuko escaped with a charge of high treason to his name and a reward on his head. Like mother like son, Zuko decided to disappear. With a new face, a new name, and an old dream, Zuko knocked on Master Piandao's door.
Little did he know that a certain Water Tribe warrior, weighed down with a promise to his father and a slowly-deteriorating self-esteem, was not too far behind.
In hindsight, considering the look of sheer horror on Zuko's face when he saw Sokka standing next to Piandao, "childhood friends" was not the story they should have gone with.

Summary
Picks up in the car after the Suwa family showdown in Ep.12.
They have been partners for years, and they still are. They're just a different kind now, I guess? After making the drastic (and arguably psychotic) plan to leave the hitman business, Kazuki and Rei are forced to make a huge life transition. They have to become normal people. As they work together to adapt to this new and confusing life they find themselves developing new and confusing feelings as well. A continuation of what the anime set up, they are just two "best friends" trying to find a way through their mental illness, past trauma, and their everyday lives together. Unless, maybe there's more to it than that?
I wanted to dive into their near future but also elaborate on their past. So every chapter I am trying to include a current event and a related memory.
