Carlos thinks he’s probably supposed to know who all these people are, but he can’t really bring himself to try and remember. He’s still floating a bit and his mind won’t go where he wants it to.
“Do you want any water?” the woman says.
But before he can remember how to answer that, loud footsteps start banging down the corridor outside the room. They skid inside, and a guy follows them.
A guy who–holy shit.
The most beautiful guy he’s ever seen.---
Carlos gets shot on call and, high on post-operation anaesthetic, sees TK as if for the first time.

And making his way to a drop wearing his favorite hoodie feels completely natural, even with an alarming number of bills rolled in the front pocket — as it turns out, buying drugs is a lot like riding a bike.
What he doesn’t expect, however, is for them to feel different in his palm.
Because the little tablets look the same: they’re just as round, just as white, and just as chalky-looking. They have the same little ‘M’ carved on the top. Still, they’re heavier somehow. What had once felt like salvation weighs like a pile of stones in his hand.

“Cursed.” Gaius echoed, unimpressed.
“Cursed.” Merlin sighed back, like some kind of weepy maiden.
“He can’t lie,” Arthur supplied, walking further into the room and standing behind Merlin, pushing his head off the book roughly. Merlin squawked and glared at him before shaking his head and turning back to Gaius.

Those warm hands were on him again. One of them slid up the back of his neck, pulling his head down gently, while the other settled over his chest. Steve inhaled quickly, feeling that palm graze over his nipple, and he opened his eyes, staring down at Jonathan.
Jonathan stared back up at him, frowning, “Don’t talk that way,” he murmured, “You’re better than that,” he arched up, gently pressed the tip of his nose against Steve’s.
“You could be dead,” Steve stressed, gritting his teeth, “I could be dead. We would have left this world, Jonathan. I would have gone out without…without telling you how much I-” he sighed heavily, forehead dropping against the shorter male. His own palm landed over the hand Jonathan had over his chest and he moved them so that they settled over his beating heart.

Summary
Ryan and Shane have been moving around something that is coming to a head between them. After a car accident, on the way to an investigation, Ryan slowly starts to become suspicious that Shane might not be what he seems. He realizes, though, that he just might not care.
Shane sits forward suddenly. “Hey, pull over up here.”
Ryan follows the instruction without questioning it, which probably says something about either his willingness to listen to Shane or his sanity. Maybe both; they go hand in hand. He puts on his blinker, even though they haven’t seen another car in a couple of minutes, and pulls off onto the shoulder.
“Are you gonna puke or something?” he asks, putting the car into park, as Shane takes off his seatbelt with one hand and tugs off his Ray Bans with the other.
“You better hope not,” he murmurs as he leans over the center console and kisses Ryan solidly on the mouth.
