Susie is holding hands with a boy. Noelle wonders why she’s dreaming about this.
Susie falls to her knees and clutches Kris’ limp body and she keeps holding hands with the boy, the boy that looks like Kris’ brother. Noelle thinks absently that this is a scarier dream than she’s ever had, and that Kris’ blood is matting in Susie’s hair as she tries to find their heartbeat.
Then Susie stands up, and Noelle knows with absolute certainty that Susie is going to kill her. Kris’ face reflects in Susie’s axe as she swings it back, and in the split second before Noelle blacks out, there is still an expression lingering on their face. Relief.

'Shota opens his eyes slowly, wincing at the shitty fluorescent lights above him. Is he in the hospital? No, Shota knows the hospital, knows the uncomfortably clean scent and the irritation of beeping machines. This isn't the hospital.
God, his head hurts. There's a dull throbbing in his temple and he goes to raise his hand to rub the ache away when the clanking of metal on metal startles him. Around his wrists are thick, metal restraints that keep him firmly attached to the bed he's on. It looks like a hospital bed, although Shota is certain by now that he is definitely not in the safe walls of such a place.'
OR
Shota and a student get kidnapped while out on a patrol and end up in a bit of a predicament.

Summary
The Angel perplexes Ralsei far more than he can handle. How could he understand them? One moment, they are hugging him. The next, they choose to fight for the first time without any prior warning. Between days, they grow more tired, like something weighs them down. Ralsei's only purpose is to serve them and the Lightners, so perhaps he just does not understand how the Angel can change so rapidly. He can never truly understand them, despite trying so hard to do so. Yet, part of him keeps wondering. Curiosity gnaws at him the more time he spends in the Angel's presence.
After a frustrating three days with the Angel, Ralsei cannot make heads or tails of their behavior. They confuse him, and he confuses them. Perhaps, Ralsei was not thinking straight when he took drastic measures. Maybe, he had been too weathered down by the previous day in the church to be able to think rationally. Against his better judgement, he calls for the Angel by name.
They answer, and Ralsei finally sees the Angel for what they are.
