Tetia’s voice echoed down the hall, heading in his direction, and Qifrey wasted no time in shoving aside his covers and scrambling to his feet, rushing to the door to meet her. He pushed it open, and there Tetia stood, her eyes wide and frightened. “Are you alright?” Qifrey asked, scanning her quickly. She didn’t seem to be injured, her pigtails still in place, a little bit of flour dusted on her robes.
“Yes,” she said, wringing her hands, “yes, I’m okay, and Coco and Agott and Richeh are, too. It’s, um, it’s… Master Olruggio.”
Qifrey's whole body felt suddenly cold, his breath caught in his throat. He was moving before he even realized it, stepping forward towards the hallway.

“Yeah!” Yoshiki responded immediately from where he sat on his bed, keeping his eye on Hikaru’s handling of his collection.
“Ya needa get a load of this, then!” With a volume in hand, Hikaru darted across Yoshiki’s bedroom to sit beside him on the bed. He leaned closer into Yoshiki, bringing his free hand up to cover his mouth from the side. “I once heard one of the girls in our class say that she thinks he’s in love with Ron!”

The only problem is, he and Fushiguro are by no means ordinary people, and their situation isn't either. Lives were hanging in the balance - not just Tsumiki's, but many others' as well. This is no time to talk about something silly like love.
Still, Yuji at least wants to try.

“Do what?” He asked, forcing the most air he could into his words. His resolve was crumbling, cracking into pieces like the mask he had put over his feelings.
“That,” Fushiguro rolled his eyes, gesturing vaguely to Yuji.
“You know, you’re going to have to be more specific–”
“You do this, where you break down and you tear yourself apart, but the second someone comes to help, you act like it’s fine. You act like it’s nothing,” Fushiguro snapped. He all but whispered as he added, “You act like you’re nothing.”
And Yuji’s mask shattered.

To his horror, Nobara’s mouth screws up in a twisted smile even as tears gather in her visible eye. There’s a yellow primrose tucked behind her ear that begins to bleed a bright red.
“Don’t you remember?” Her tone is too light, too jovial in comparison to her devastated expression. Megumi backs away from her with regret thick on his tongue but his retreat does nothing to stop her words now that he’s posed the question. “It’s his execution day.”

They were the qualities Megumi most valued, so why would he answer anything else? What other type of person would anyone want by their side? But apparently that answer was boring and didn’t count, leading Megumi to believe he fundamentally didn’t understand what a “type” really was.
