I cannot help but like this. It breaks my heart but it's so good. Fuck.
Like, I already hated Twilight vampires as a whole before this fic, but after it? Man I loathe them. Vile creatures.
The first fic in this series is pretty good AND happy, but the second fic? Heart-wrenching. Absolutely heart-wrenching. I feel a profound sense of loss despite the fact that these are not actual people. It is a better ending for the world, but sadder for the characters involved, I suppose. In a manner of speaking.
Binged everything in less than 7 hours. I couldn't lift my eyes off of the text. Also? This is like the first time I have read a believable fic where Bella chose Jacob over Edward. It's good. Really, really good.

Summary
Bella Swan arrives in Forks, Washington on January 17, 2005. It is not the first time this has happened. Bella Swan has been arriving to Forks in 2005 for years now. No one has gotten wise to it except for Jacob Black who is haunted by strange dreams and visions of people long dead and gone. Forced out of his dream and dragged out of bed by his father, Jacob is made to go with him to the Swan residence. The pair deliver the rundown Chevy that Charlie requested for his daughter, but during the meeting, Jacob can’t help recalling the warnings from his dreams. Now he must complete a series of objectives, keep his head down, and survive the story or face a series of endless nightmares. As he does so, Bella too begins to catch on to her friend’s strange behavior and the unsettling nature of Forks.

Summary
Ninety-six years after the last appearance of Sozin’s Comet, a freshly burned and banished thirteen-year-old Prince Zuko discovers a strange boy frozen in an iceberg.
When Zhao interferes with Zuko's plans to deliver the Avatar to his father, Aang helps Zuko and Iroh escape. They take refuge from the Fire Navy in the abandoned Air Temples, where the young Avatar searches for any remnants of his people that he can find. Along the way, Aang teaches an indoctrinated Zuko about the true nature of the Air Nomads, and the Fire Prince must come to terms with the fact that everything he has been taught was a lie, while the Dragon of the West must face the sins of his past.
Eventually, Aang and Zuko become close friends, and Zuko begins to feel things he has never felt for anyone before. However, Zhao will not give up easily, and will do whatever it takes to capture the Avatar and his traitor accomplices.
(A retelling of AtLA exploring the friendship and eventual romance that could have developed between Aang and Zuko if the circumstances of their meeting had been different.)
