While the voices of the Lega became louder and louder, until Damian woke up completely, Batman groaned internally.
He didn't want to explain anything about his private affairs. Besides, there wasn't much to explain in the first place: he had told the truth. Just, not as everyone expected.

If he repeats it to himself, perhaps he will be able to tame his desire to stop pretending and jump on him, picking up where they left off before.

"What are you wearing?" Atem almost squeaked, seeing Seto enter the throne room. It was lucky that he had asked Mahad to leave him alone, at least no one will witness that.

"And yet, you continue to deal with it," the woman remarked with what he could only call a derisive smile. "You can't go on in denial forever, Kaiba. Not when your destiny is waiting for you."
"I don't believe in fate," he said confidently. "Go waste someone else's time. This does not concern me."

Before Seto could answer, the office door slammed open, and Atem reluctantly walked away, unhappy with the ruined moment. Probably the magic on the secretary was over and the woman had realized that with Mr. Kaiba there was someone who hadn't had an agreed appointment for at least two weeks.
But the one who entered was not a large middle-aged woman with glasses and the beginning of baldness, but a four-year-old boy, with large, bright brown eyes, his school bag with a Blue Dragon key ring hanging on the side.
Around the boy, Atem clearly felt shadow magic with a strength that surprised even himself, as if the boy were made of magic.
Before he could ask any questions, the child screamed, "Dad!"
"Dad?" Atem repeated in surprise as the child walked past him and hugged one of Seto's legs.
