It was bright, brighter than anything they had seen- like a flash-bang straight to their pupils, but different? In the back of their mind they felt worried about potential damage, but in the front- they just felt calm, the banging in the distance like the beat of a heartbeat, just as it felt like they were drifting off they felt it. The rush of gravity, the sudden adrenaline pumping through their body and the wind blowing their face back! They were falling and it felt like rebirth! And then they made impact.
"hi! I'm monkey D. Luffy! Ne, ne why did you fall out of the sky, how come you can't swim? Can you poop?" The face- monkey D. Fuckin Luffy, said. Giggling a bit at the last question and still not processing everything fully the person said "luffy oh, OK yeah cool joke, I'm uhhhh, fuck I'm astro I guess? Fios D. Astro." The blinding smile that came after made the person, Astro, consider the possibility that maybe, just maybe, it is their dear Monkey D. Luffy.

“What are you talking about? Why were you swimming all the way out here? What’s with your weird clothes?” The Boy, whom I refuse to name on principle, starts rapid fire shooting out questions while wiggling his way across the tiny boat to me.
“This is actually happening. Oh my god this is real, what the shit…” I turn around from my position on the floor to see The Boy crouched inches from my face. I give an undignified yelp and scramble as far back as I can without tipping over the edge.
He gives me that bright grin and announces “I’m Monkey D. Luffy! I’m gonna be King of the Pirates!” Then he cocks his head to the side. “Who’re you?”
