Once upon a time, on a certain dark planet called Surcease live the Kaedekin.

The life native to the planet is inedible, the heavy metal content of everything makes everything very complicated, the perpetual darkness blocking out the visible light of the nearby star makes everything very complicated, and the random kaiju created by the mutagenic void energies coming from certain spots on the planet make everything very... you get the idea.

Ghost isn’t supposed to want anything, but they broke that rule a while ago. Who are they, without a given purpose to fulfill? They don't know, but maybe this thing that they found floating in the Void can help them figure it out.

She is also reeling from seeing her sibling Ghost, while also processing everything she has been through since reaching Pharloom. Lace has gotten her wish and is finally free from her mother's grasp. Now she has a chance to be herself, but ages spent under her mother's control have left her grappling with her own nature. A nature that she feels her mother has cursed her with. She now has to deal with her past, while spending time with the Spider she loathed, but is finding herself enjoying the company of. The two bugs must grow from their past and forge a new future together in their practically infinite lifespan.
