Summary
Tucked underneath a large bit of debris, Keith is only moderately well-hidden from the sentries patrolling the area. The goal had been to take advantage of the upset of the rest of Voltron attacking and grab the information needed in the confusion. It should’ve gone off without a hitch.

Tilting his head, Keith slips further into his orbit. At this angle, their faces are closer than strictly necessary. It’s easier for Lotor to delude himself into believing that’s purely to communicate better. But he knows better than that.

Summary
When they return from their battle, after Shiro connects with Black once more, they expect Keith to be back soon, and, boy, did they have some words to say to him. After it becomes apparent that Keith either wasn't arriving or he was already back, they split up to search for him.
When Hunk finds him, he expected many things. He was definitely going to scold Keith for putting the Blades over Voltron, and he was going to alert everyone else of his presence, and he was going to be disappointed when Keith rolls his eyes and says that he was busy, and that he couldn't help it.
He did not expect to find him having a mental breakdown in the bathroom.

He just worked toward a goal, and he either succeeded or failed, and he can’t fail this. “-I just need more time.”
“That information is invaluable in overcoming this sector of Empire Control. You have five minutes, or until we’re compromised ourselves,” Kolivan stated, grim and final.
Another click, and Kolivan’s voice went silent.

He doesn't expect to find himself frequently lost in those intense, dark eyes and those tiny, quirked smiles when he's being sassed.
He doesn't expect to adore the boy's quiet ways, his shy gazes and the way he lashes out at the enemy in battle with grace and an untamed ferocity.
It isn't until the boy is bleeding out in his arms before he realises he is in love with Keith.

Summary
First-year Garrison cadet Keith Kogane stands out like a shark in a tidal pool. Ruthless. Explosive. Focused. Rude. The other cadets can’t beat him, so they try to take him down any way they can.
Despite the constant churning of rumors and accusations surrounding Keith, Senior Officer Takashi Shirogane offers to mentor him, showing the boy kindness and patience. Slowly, Keith is drawn out of his defensive shell. Slowly, he learns to trust Shiro.
But time is running out.
Tonight, the Garrison will be infiltrated by a group of anti-space militants and Shiro is at the top of their hit list. Unfortunately for them, Keith isn’t even on their radar. And there is no way in hell he is letting his friend die tonight.

The battle of Kuron vs Keith could have ended alot differently. (I don't know how to summerize, so here's an excerpt)
"Keith. Keith. Please hold on. Please,” Shiro knew there wasn’t a point, not really, even if Keith could hold on a little longer, there was nothing that Shiro could do to save him. Shiro couldn’t save his little brother. He cradled Keith to his chest, who was miraculously still breathing, though Shiro knew that it wouldn’t be for long, the fact making him hold his brother tighter to his chest. He had failed in the absolute worst way he could have ever imagined, he had killed his brother. His best friend. “I’m so sorry.”
Keith drew in a ragged breath, and somehow managed to speak, though it was so quietly that Shiro had to press his head over Keith’s mouth to hear the words. Keith spoke three of them, each taking more effort than the last. “Not. Your. Fault.” Shiro could see the honesty behind the pain in his brother’s eyes. After he had emitted his last piece, Keith choked in another breath that left unsteadily from his mouth.

“We, uh, speak the same language? Or languages, I guess.”
“You’re thinking too small, my friend!” Lance waves a hand out in front of them like he’s a character in a movie presenting a get-rich-quick plan. “I’m talking secrets, evil schemes, real-time gossip where no one can understand us.” He turns back to Keith, gripping him by the shoulders and making his voice low and serious.
“You, good sir,” Lance says with all the seriousness of a child insisting their new shoes make them faster, “are my best friend now.”
