He's anticipating that the weekend will be awkward and heavy, but at least this way, he won't be alone. He'll have Phil by his side to make him laugh and feel safe, so realistically, how bad could things get?
And then, the funniest thing happens. They both have a wonderful time.
Dan has a hard time being normal about it all. Luckily, no one is really asking him to be.
