Grian frowns. He considers their joined hands, before smiling and letting them go. “Do not swear. Although I joy in thee, I have no joy of this contract tonight. It—“
Scar starts to speak, taking a step forward, but Grian takes a step back, planting his hands on Scar’s shoulders. “It is too rash!” he insists. ”Too unadvised, too sudden. Too like the lightning, which doth cease to be ere one can say, ‘it lightens’.”
Scar says nothing — he has no written line here. But he takes Grian’s hand in his. He holds it, gently, as if it’s something fragile. Grian’s completely blindsided as he feels a pang in his chest. Oh, Scar.
He places his other hand over Scar’s, squeezing it reassuringly. His voice is soft as he finishes his line. “Sweet, good night…”
Aah. This is the part of the scene where Scar and Pearl would’ve. You know.
He sees Scar give an imperceptible nod, eyes locked with his.
Grian is cast as Juliet and Scar is cast as Romeo as they rehearse the balcony scene oh no I wonder what could possibly happen

Of course one look at Scar still lights him up inside.It's been five years since Scar and Grian last saw each other - five years since their messy breakup just before graduation. Summary
Scar truly is unfairly pretty tonight. His hair is mussed from both Dodgebolt and drinking, the left strap of his long green dress falling past his shoulder. Grian mentally traces its path over his bicep, then trails further— Scar's arms are incredibly muscled, and his hands are large and square, nails bitten off at the ends. Grian knows from experience that they're warm, solid. If Grian reached out, would Scar let him hold them?
It takes him a moment to realize Scar's stopped talking. Grian's eyes snap back up to his face; Scar's staring at him with an unreadable expression, swaying slightly on his feet. Grian has to force himself not to step further into his space, do something stupid that will land him in deep trouble when they're sober later.
"Sorry," Grian says belatedly. "I didn't quite catch what were you sa—"
Scar tilts forward, crowding Grian against the tile they'd just been critiquing; his body forms a long, warm line against Grian's. Caught between that encompassing heat and the cold tile at his back, Grian shivers.
"Hi," Scar murmurs.

“It’s just, this assignment is a short story and it has to be romantic. And, well, I’m kinda stumped…” he trails off lamely, looking away from the other self-consciously.
“Well…” Scar starts, his eyes lighting up with mischief like they do when he gets a Bad Idea(™).
“Scar no. Whatever you’re thinking, I’m sure it's a terrible idea, no.”
“Oh come on! I haven’t even said anything yet! Maybe my idea is so good and it’s gonna inspire you to write! You can’t judge a man before he’s even given you his idea, G, that’s so unfair!” Scar cries in indignation, hands moving around dramatically before he looks at Grian with the biggest pout and puppy dog eyes.
“Fine. What’s your idea then?” Grian sighs, giving up immediately.
“Well!” Scar smirks, drawing the word out, “I was just thinking maybe I could help you with that.” he says, moving his face closer to Grian’s, green eyes wide and staring right into black.

Summary
The day after Scar breaks up with Grian, the dead come back to life. Knowing that venturing out alone is a death sentence, the sudden onset of the apocalypse forces them to stick together despite the tensions between them. In the wreckage of the world, they're forced to survive side-by-side, coming to terms with the fact that—try as they might—there's no one they trust more than each other.
“Go!” Grian shouts as the monster charges, putting his whole force into the blow.
Scar watches, frozen stiff as Grian fights until blood and gore and viscera mark the creature up like a Pollock painting.
“What are you waiting for?!” Grian snaps when he finally notices that Scar is still standing there. He grips his weapon tight and attacks a final time, slamming the zombie down—good and dead—and standing panting over top of it, strained but victorious. He starts rushing from the scene, calling back for Scar over his shoulder. “Run!”
And in a way that’s as familiar to him as breathing, Scar chases after him.

Summary
Grian has been in love with Scar for years but just can't seem to bite the bullet and confess. (Un)luckily for him, the flowers that have started blooming from his wings whenever he's around Scar are now making the topic sort of impossible to avoid. Maybe if he just hides until whatever magical force that cause the flowers to sprout gives up on him, he'll make it through this whole thing unscathed?
