He had looked down at the humans as they wailed with screeching vocalizers. How they mourned those that would never return. The ones that only enjoyed their company because they were useful. Entertaining. Utter hatred burned through his circuits.
He would be there to watch each of them perish. That was a promise.

Summary
When a malfunctioning dimensional portal deposits the Toa Nuva in the deepest levels of Aperture Science, GLaDOS proposes an arrangement.
The Toa complete her tests.
She provides them with a way home.
This arrangement becomes considerably more complicated when the Toa begin repairing the facility, improving the test chambers, and accidentally teaching GLaDOS what happens when six biomechanical heroes are given access to industrial machinery.
Then the Rahkshi arrive.
GLaDOS has been waiting all day for someone to threaten her test subjects.
