He puts away all of the shirts he pulled out except for the one that Regulus told him to wear. It’s a nice shirt, James can admit, as he unbuttons it and slips it on, doing the buttons up once again. He unbuttons the top three buttons and quickly rushes to grab the pants he was told to wear.

James grabs two rings to slide onto his fingers; his family’s signet ring and the promise ring that Regulus gave him. He usually wears it on a necklace under his shirt but today is special.
Because they’re wearing red tonight.
After making a couple adjustments to his outfit, he snaps a picture of himself in his mirror and sends it to Regulus, awaiting his response.
It doesn’t take long for him to get a response, but it’s in the form of a simple ‘Merlin, I’m in love with you’ from his boyfriend which makes him laugh.
“You really are texting someone.” Says a voice from his door and James whips around. Remus has apparently entered his room without him noticing, “Not only are you laughing at something on your phone, but you’re wearing red.

“Will…” Sokka trails off before clearly steeling himself. “Will your dad be mad? Like, if we get a bad mark?”
Zuko freezes, noticeably so. From hearing about Sokka’s dad and how understanding he can be, Zuko’s not too sure how to play this. He could be honest that, yes, his dad will be furious to see a B, but that will undoubtedly upset Sokka.
“I just don’t want to disappoint him,” Zuko tries. “He’s done a lot for me and I want to prove this school wasn’t a mistake.”
Sokka nods, expression bare. “That’s tough, dude. I’m sure he’ll be proud no matter what, though. You’ve really been applying yourself.”
Zuko smiles lightly, pushing away memories of heat against his cheek. “Yeah, hopefully he will be.”
OR
When Ozai discovers Zuko is gay, he sends him to a boarding school, one meant for children of politicians and soldiers, not business moguls. Despite his rocky place in this new school, with distance from Ozai, Zuko grows and realizes just how much he needs to hide what happens during his trips home. The crystal vase slipped from Alfred’s fingers and shattered on the tile floor with an ear-splitting crash.
He hardly noticed. His gaze was still fixed on the purple hyacinths clustered around the outside of the bouquet.
Their meaning? I’m sorry.
Or: Alfred receives a bouquet of flowers from Dick as an early birthday gift. Interpreting their floral language meaning sends him and Bruce into a panic.

Tim had launched forward, slamming his head into concrete even before he really registered that he was awake at all. Falling back down hurt just as badly, head spinning as his ears rang loudly.
Trying to calm himself, Tim breathed deeply only to find that he couldn’t. His chest was… There was something on it, something far too heavy. It could very well be what he had just hit his head on but when Tim tried to shift it off of him, it didn’t so much as budge.
Tim couldn’t breathe, and as every super genius knows, you need to breathe to keep being a super genius.
