It was a sad fact of TK’s working life that he didn’t even flinch when they were called out for a GSW victim. Being a firefighter in New York meant that he’d seen his fair share of gunshot wounds, and while he’d gotten used to steeling himself and creating a mask of pure professionalism to get through the call.
It never occurred to him that there might be reason to worry until they were in the rig and pulling out of the 126, listening to the muffled voice of dispatch.
“EMS 126, please be advised you are responding to an officer involved shooting. Scene has been secured and you are safe to proceed.”
TK finally feels what it's like to be on the other side of the hospital bed. For Febuwhump Day 3 prompt: blood loss.
