Summary
As usual, Loki steals the Tesseract from under Fury's nose, along with Barton and Selvig. But before SHIELD can assemble the Avengers, Hydra sends their best assassin to take out the alien threat.
Loki vs Winter Solider. Loki is inspired by his own selfish reasons to unearth the memories in the Asset's head. The Asset is compelled to complete his mission. Until he's not.
Minor character death. Clint Barton and Erik Selvig don't survive the first chapter.

Summary
After Grenades, Philanthropy Inc is still just Hal and Dave and still on the run. A lead from Mei Ling on a weapon of mass destruction splits them apart in more ways than one. Their budding relationship is torn apart in the face of death and the shrapnel of their actions.
Includes: Snake doling out violence for intel, Otacon doling out violence for mercy, and many many morally grey decisions while they struggle under a colossal amount of physical and emotional whump.
Note: Can be read on its own without the background of the first fic, but better together.

Summary
This fic is spawned from my own desire to see what happens to Steve and Loki after the events in first breath after coma, the 3rd work in the winter in our bones series by 100indecisions. In fact, it picks up right after that fic, so if you're not familiar, I recommend starting at the beginning of the series, which is brutal and beautifully written. I am more than slightly obsessed with this raw characterization of Steve as the Winter Solider and Loki as test subject. TLDR: Go read winter in our bones first! :)
Loki is damaged. Steve is damaged, too. Before the winter can end and the ice can thaw, it has to crack.

Steve and Bucky find out Hollywood has been busy since they went away. A historical survey, including but not limited to: one set of exploded genitals, a brief interlude in France, Mel Gibson and other masterworks of casting, eight Academy awards, several dinosaurs, and something Tony Stark has ominously dubbed “the masterpiece.” Art included.

Summary
Some stories end with a fall. This one begins with two. The soldier with the star-spangled shield became a weapon for the other side; decades later, the false prince fell from the sky and became their experiment. The soldier and the prince were never supposed to meet.
Or, the AU where Steve is the Winter Soldier and Loki’s a HYDRA guinea pig, and things are generally awful. Series title is from "Winter Bones" by Stars, which is particularly relevant for the end of the second fic and after.

Summary
"His heart beats too fast, his hands shake, and his vision darkens around the edges. He is weak. Still the agent is there. A steady hand set on Loki’s back, tense and ready should the god start to fall. The help burns at Loki’s ego, frays the already damaged edges but not enough for him to refuse. Not enough for him to send the mortal away."
Arriving on earth injured and exhausted Loki has no choice but to rely on a human for his survival. Good thing Clint has a heart of gold.
