Summary
It's been six months since everything with Vecna went down, and against all odds, Eddie survived. Sure, he has some permanent reminders of the battle, but he's alive. That's all that matters, right?
The problem is, Eddie isn’t himself anymore. He’s depressed and jumpy, he’s withdrawn and tired all the time. Everyone (including himself) just figured that it’d take some time for him to bounce back, but now it’s worse than ever.
Unbeknownst to him, his uncle teamed up with none other than Steve Harrington to help get him back on his feet. The plan? Get Eddie a dog, of course.
AKA: Eddie adopts a dog, gets his groove back, and falls in love.

Summary
Steve Harrington has struggled with school ever since high school. After much trial and error, he's managed to secure himself a spot at the DePaul University in Chicago, along with his best friend, Robin Buckley. The pair move and manage to find a lovely house for rent. The only catch is, it's a bit more expensive than they can afford so they're required to find part-time jobs. While Robin is able to get a job at a cafe on campus, Steve struggles to find something that will fit his class schedule. He eventually finds a job as an art model for a prominent painter in the area. Thus begins his tumultuous relationship with the painter, Eddie Munson.

He can’t breathe.
The tail yanks, and suddenly his back is slamming into the hard ground, the impact detonating every wound. He feels it all, and it’s agony. Ripping, shredding. The worst pain he’s ever known.
His heart stutters and kicks in his chest as his mind screams at him to get back up, to run, to do anything to survive; but he can’t. He’s pinned down, spread eagle on the dead ground, a storm of wings and teeth closing in.
Red lightning flashes above him, bathing everything in crimson, reminding him that he is in literal Hell.
He’s being eaten alive, and all he can think as the pain starts to blur is, I’m not ready.
Please. Not like this. Not now.
Please.
And then, from somewhere above all the madness that has become Eddie’s entire existence, a shape plunges into the wild fray. A human shape. An avenging angel, wielding a weathered baseball bat filled with bloody nails like it's a prayer in the dark.
An answer to his silent plea.

Summary
Rumor has it that whenever any one of the seven or so gremlins that Steve has magnanimously decided to adopt sleep over at his ridiculously large and empty house, he’ll get up extra early in the morning and pack them all lunches in brown paper bags. He’ll make them breakfast, too, and drop them off at school with a ruffle of their hair, a slap on their shoulder, or a pep-talk, depending on the kid.
Not that Eddie Munson, of all people, would know anything about it.It's October and Steve starts packing Eddie lunches for work. Eddie doesn't know what to do about it.

Summary

Summary
Steve’s finally done it.
After saving Barb and Will from the Mind Flayer, he confessed his feelings to Eddie – and now they’re a thing. An actual thing. Steve is on the cusp of graduating, has a summer job lined up, and Eddie is finding every available opportunity to make out with him.
Life is good. Almost perfect, really.
Except Eddie still won’t put a label on what they are, he balks at the idea of even their closest friends finding out about them, and Steve can’t help wondering if Eddie really wants him the same way Steve wants Eddie.
When Steve has visions of Billy Hargrove with black veins under his skin and of a damn meat monster tearing through the new Starcourt Mall, he realizes that figuring out his relationship status with Eddie Munson may unfortunately be the least of his problems.

Steve continues, completely ignoring Eddie, “You’ll wipe your feet. You’re not dragging dirt all over my car. No hitchhikers. No cutesy road games. No smoking in the car. I’m not paying for all the gas.”
“Ass, gas or grass, got it,” Eddie says, like he's taking this very seriously. He is not taking this seriously.

The merman doesn't make a sound, but as Eddie cuts away more and more of the net, he seems to relax a tiny bit. Those sharp eyes never leave Eddie's though.
"My name's Eddie. Do you have a name?"
No reply.
"Your scales are…really pretty," Eddie continues. "I bet they shine in the sun."
At that, a small noise escapes the merman, a quiet trill.
"Oh? You like compliments, huh?" Eddie smiles. "So you can understand me."
"Some," the merman croaks. Weakly, he holds up a hand, brings his thumb and forefinger less than an inch apart, indicating small.

To most people, merfolk are dangerous beasts, evil, hunted down and their scales sold for high prices. To Eddie, they're kind and fascinating creatures from his uncle's old stories, and something he's longed to see for years.
When Captain Creel drags a captured merman on board Eddie's ship, he gets his wish.
Steve is the most beautiful thing he's ever seen, and Eddie's going to free him or die trying.
