“Father,” Adam hedges—almost as if he were somewhat afraid of what Lawrence’s answer could be. “Can I?”
“…Yes,” Lawrence murmurs, his lungs granted capacity again, despite the itch in his palms and the slip of his eyes, to the shape of Adam’s mouth.
