Its coat was grey and brown, collecting in a mane around its neck and great, loose furls around its joints - thick and muscular hind legs that it was leaning forward on, even with shoulders and front legs that looked more human than canine. Furry, no doubt, but- it had hands. Great, padded, clawed hands that could grasp the buck and tear its flesh, while its tail wagged lazily behind it.
“Wh-what the fuck is that?”
Arthur jumped, getting so lost in his own bewilderment that he forgot Kieran was there. Luckily, the wolf hadn’t noticed them yet, still caught up in its meal. Reaching slowly for his rifle, Arthur nodded at Kieran to grab his own. They sized it up - it was distracted, vulnerable. Arthur cocked his gun.
Its ears twitched, head snapping towards them. For a moment, it seemed to look at Arthur - look him directly in the eye. Its head tilted. Blood still coated its muzzle.
Then there was a shot, and it wailed.

As his rant was stopped short, he couldn't help but think– Damn that ‘Oh, Arthur,’ and it sounding so nice on your lips.

Once upon a time, you stole a wad of cash from the wrong man. But after being caught and thinking you were about to die, you were instead invited to join the infamous Van Der Linde gang. Now the very man you thought was going to kill you can’t keep his words steady, and you’re just as flustered as him.
On second thought – maybe you stole from Mr. Right.
In other words: short drabble. Fluff, shy Arthur Morgan, light angst and comfort for your reading pleasure. I also totally did not steal the title from the WIP name for Pride and Prejudice.

Trouble arises when Y/N fends off a drunk. Impressed, Dutch tasks Arthur with recruiting her to help rescue Sean, who’s been captured by bounty hunters.
Y/N is a hardened outlaw, and has lived a life full of crime, just like Arthur. She's wary of joining another gang after past betrayals, but the more time she spends with the Van der Lindes, the harder it becomes to ignore the sense of belonging she swore she didn’t need. Arthur doesn't want to get his hopes up, but he quietly wants her to stay. Riding with the gang forces her to confront the version of herself she swore she’d buried, and a future she never imagined.
Will she stick with the gang, or go back to riding the trails alone?
