They stay that way for a long time, Catra’s face tucked into Adora’s shoulder, Adora gently cradling Catra’s head. Adora is careful not to hug Catra too hard or make her feel restrained, anticipating the moment that Catra will start to pull away — but Catra doesn’t. She hangs on so tightly it hurts, her claws digging through Adora’s jacket and into her back, latching into her like she did when she was a kitten and didn’t know how much her claws could hurt. Adora tries not to wince, tries not to move a single muscle, worried that if she does the spell will break and Catra will struggle away, appalled at having shown weakness.
But Catra doesn’t let go. And so neither does Adora.

“Piano, huh?” Kyouka takes the clipboard back. “How long have you played?”
Momo examines her own short-clipped, colorless fingernails. Her piano tutor hadn’t allowed any fancy manicures — too distracting against the black and white keys, and any length beyond the end of her finger would cause undesirable clicking sounds.
“Since I was a small child. And yourself?”
Kyouka shrugs and fiddles with her hair. “My parents are musicians, so I’ve been playing all sorts of instruments since before I can remember.”
Momo smiles. “That’s fascinating. I hope I’ll get the chance to see you play again.”
She winces. Of course she’ll see her play again. They are in the music club together.
“Actually, I’m just about to play another song.” Kyouka reaches for her guitar. “I’ll be playing short snippets every fifteen minutes or so until Club Day finishes up later this afternoon. You’re welcome to stick around — if you want, I mean. No pressure.”
“Oh!” Watching from a closer vantage point would be delightful. “I’d love to.”
