Summary
Starscream might be sparked and on medical leave (or whatever they are calling it now that the war is over, he guesses) but he is definitely able to deal with a simple recognition mission on a useless little desert planet. Even if he has to tolerate the Protectobots coming along, at least those five are not on the list of most annoying Autobots. What's the worst that could happen?
When First Aid complained to Ratchet that he wanted more medical experience with no supervision, he did not mean “dealing with the first sparkling emergence in millions of vorns while stuck on an abandoned base in the middle of a magnetic storm”.
Also, Blades should have shut up five sentences ago.

Summary
Fact: Cassettes are small, and their engines are less powerful. This does not make them any less dangerous, but it does make keeping their systems at optimal temperatures harder. It is not a problem when they are docked in their Host, but when they are not, it leads to them looking for alternative heat sources.
Fact: Seekers have powerful engines. When in root-mode, and not flying, those engines are under-used and so they produce a lot of heat. Seekers are also very social and they share quarters, even for recharging.
Fact: the Decepticon base is a ship at the bottom of an ocean, and it's, like, FREEZING cold.
Conclusion: “Soundwave! How many times do I have to tell you to keep your brats away from my Seekers' quarters!” -

“Worst battlefield so far,” Ravage corrected, stretching her back. “Frag, I feel like there is mud down to my protoform.”
“Swamps suck.”

Summary
In the main story ("Life always finds a way - it's that way or the highway"), the Cybertronian civil war does not end with a bang or a super-weapon. It ends with Vector Sigma leaving a few surprises behind, a crash course in Cybertronian biology, plenty of sneaking around, the combined power of GOSSIP, and a sparkling baby boom. Starscream is the universe's chew toy but this time he's in good company.
