Summary
Bitten and turned, she woke up after her death. She finds herself caught between the living and the undead.
Surviving in the new world meant finding a way to protect herself against other survivors. The further she distanced herself from the living the more zombie-like she felt and the closer she got to them, the more vulnerable she was.
Eventually, she joined the Atlanta survivors and escapes the city, hoping to find a place with them. Despite their acceptance, she realizes the 'cure' she was given was not permanent. Over time she feels the turn start and she realizes the threat she poses. Her hopes for a solution to her condition die slowly while she retreats from the group.WARNINGS DO APPLY! Check tags carefully!
This is NOT a slow burn! It starts and it moves forward, more focus on the relationship.
Many chapters are old! I do not stand by the old work as I wrote much of it in 2013. I wasn't exactly an experienced writer back then. I am working on a rewrite, but in the meantime I'm moving this fic to AO3 after a decade on FFN. Future chapters will see significant improvement. Thank you!
