“We should- we should go.” Shane rose. He found himself tugging at Ilya’s arm, but he wasn’t moving. "This isn't-"
“Shane, shut the fuck up.” Ilya said.
“Hey-”
Rozanov grabbed Shane’s face and forced his eyes back on the rink.
“Holy shit.”
It was all Shane could say. There, taking laps for an adoring crowd, was Ilya Rozanov.
Shane Hollander would never admit this, not even under oath, but the first thing he noticed when he saw 32 year-old Ilya Rozanov, was that he looked really, really hot. He was entirely, spectacularly gorgeous.
The second thing, the one far more pertinent, was that he was wearing black and red.
“You get traded to Ottawa.” Shane uttered.
“No-”
Shane darted between the Rozanov circling the rink and the Rozanov beside him.
“What the fuck did you do?” Shane asked.

Ilya Rozanov wakes up in a future where he is openly bisexual and married. This would be great news, except for the part where moments ago he was in 2014 where he was many things: recent Stanley Cup champion, star of the Raiders, the sluttiest man in Boston, a Russian citizen with a father who is alive, and also absolutely, definitely, 100% not in love with Shane Hollander.
And why the hell is he wearing a Centaurs jersey?

Summary
Shane twists in Ilya’s arms to glare at him. “You shouldn’t be here if you have a wife,” he hisses.
«Who the hell are we - you - married to?» Rozanov barks.
Ilya’s attention on Shane doesn’t waver as he responds, first to Rozanov: «Our wife is the prettiest - constellations of freckles that spread in the summertime and big brown eyes like a baby deer’s even when they’re full of murder. Maybe especially then.» He bestows a kiss upon the furrow between Shane’s brows and thumbs the leaking tip of his cock. “Mm, maybe you’re right. My wife is very much the jealous type.”
Or:
After Shane doesn't get kissed in Vegas, a thirty-something Ilya Rozanov wearing a wedding ring engraved with Shane's number shows up to kiss him breathless in the elevator and give his younger self a lesson in how Shane deserves to be spoiled.
(or or: Ilya uses a harmless bit of sexy dream magic to right an old wrong and show his husband a good time.)

“This hot tub has not been well maintained,” Rozanov complained as they stood on the deck, staring at the built-in hot tub, big enough to fit 8 people.
“So, you can replace it,” Shane replied patiently.
“I will be too busy to replace the hot tub. Then I will have a long day, and I will decide to have a soak in my rancid hot tub, and then I will catch diphtheria and die.” Rozanov looked at Shane, accusatory. “You want me to die?”
Shane looked down. The hot tub looked no more or less rancid than any other hot tub. “I don’t think you can get diphtheria from a dirty hot tub.”
“You are doctor now?” Rozanov asked, and Shane stayed silent.

“Ilya, what are we gonna do?” Shane says.
Ilya finishes whatever he has been doing on his phone, and tosses it gently to the bed beside him. He crosses the room to Shane, stands in front of him, squeezes into his shoulders with his big hands, rubbing them like he means to warm them up.
“Looks like we will have a little vacation,” he says, with a big obnoxious grin.
Boston and Montreal are sent to Paris to play against each other in an exhibition series in January 2017. Ilya and Shane decide to stay in Paris for one more night. Just one more night, so they can talk. Maybe finally understand each other.

Hi Ilya,
My name is Shane! I don’t speak Russian, I hope that’s okay. I’m also 25 years old and I love hockey too! So we have some things in common.
I’ve never written an inmate before. I don’t really know why I’m doing this. I guess I’m lonely. I’m not very good at making friends or dating. I think maybe I can be a bit awkward in person, but I’m good at writing. So I hope that’s okay.
or Shane Hollander finds Ilya Rozanov on WriteAPrisoner.com and sends him an email.

Summary
“I’ve…seen you around campus and it’s good to finally meet you. Like, properly.” He fumbled over the words, his tongue feeling thick and heavy and entirely too big for his mouth. Whether it was from the weed or the nerves from Ilya's presence, Shane couldn't tell.
“I’ve seen you, too.” Ilya grabbed the cigarette from behind his ear, bringing it to his mouth before lighting it.
“Really?” He watched as Ilya took a long inhale from the cigarette. Shane wanted to say something in that moment, something about how mixing alcohol, weed, and nicotine was probably a bad idea, but the words died in his throat as Ilya blew out smoke from the corner of his mouth and grinned at him. He looked so fucking good.
“Da, Shane Hollander.” Shane fought back a shiver as his name fell from Ilya’s lips. He loved how Ilya’s voice had wrapped around the vowels, long drawn out and quiet. He wanted to hear it again and again.
or, Shane Hollander has had a crush on Ilya Rozanov from afar for the past three years. They finally meet at a party.
