As always when she tried to speak, it came out in a broken whisper, but somehow every student around her seemed to hear. She finished and stepped back. "It should work now--" she blinked, and suddenly the feeling was gone, and it took all her strength to keep herself from falling to her knees as a wave of exhaustion overwhelmed her. She leaned against the wall instead and found herself fighting off the urge to dry heave.
She hadn't understood a single word of what she'd just said.
