Ciel unabashedly stared at him as Sebastian finished buttoning his shirt, expression politely focused. Sebastian returned his look as Ciel raised his arms to assist Sebastian with putting his jacket on. "Yes? You had something to discuss?" prompted Sebastian.
"Last night's particular nightmare," started Ciel. He didn't want to offend Sebastian or imply he was more frightened of him than he actually was. Such a thing seemed absurd as Sebastian rolled his knee socks on. "It was about your true form."
"Ah." Sebastian grinned, slipping Ciel's feet inside his heeled boots. "That would do it for most people, young master. I apologize for the glimpse you caught of my true hideousness." Rather than employ self-depreciation, he sounded pleased.
"I need to overcome my fear."
Sebastian let go of Ciel's foot, standing up so he towered over him. He selected a ribbon and threaded it through Ciel's collar, trying it in his signature bow. "Seeing me again would only embed the fright deeper. There is no way for you to be able to see me without recoiling at best."
"That's the idea." Ciel toyed with the end of the bow, rubbing the smooth material between his fingertips. "I won't see you, but I could feel you."

That’s what Sebastian is.
He’s made of shadows that can rip humans apart in all but a single second, of sin that leaves religious humans floundering, of the filthiest and worst parts of humanity, of terrors beyond humans mere comprehension, of the ever persistent primal urge to devour his prey. He’s made of sharp claws and needle-like teeth, of slitted pupils and sharp heels.
Agni is everything light.
Agni shines with the rays of the sun at dawn, drawing those lurking in the shadows they’re stuck in into his warmth. It seems that even Sebastian can’t help but be sucked in by the bright light, to be fascinated with how a man so gentle and holy can exist.
By all means, they should not be able to coexist so well.
And yet, time and time again, it’s proven that they can.

Summary
No matter what one might believe: Soma is not a clueless idiot.
He knows he is naive but he is not stupid, he can see signs that people display that are clear as day without any struggle. Perhaps it is caused by his constant observing he did of his siblings when he was younger and had nothing better to do; done with his studies that got far too boring and unable to get his parents attention, there was not much to do other than watch his siblings.
So after years of watching; he knows when someone has fallen in love. And currently his khansama is acting like he just tripped with his head over heels.
Ciel knows Sebastian far better than anyone else.
Ciel knows the man’s true nature, knows that behind the calm and polite facade of a butler lurks a starving predator eagerly waiting for his moment to pounce. Ciel knows Sebastian well. Which is why he is sure that Soma was seeing things when he had barged into his office and said that Sebastian is in love with his khansama. It is so far from a possibility that it is pitiful. Sebastian cannot love.
They are both right and yet the two butlers still find a way to work out without them even realizing it.

Finny had never really known what a year meant.
He knelt by a flowerbed he'd planted a year prior, which had somehow survived under his care. Sebastian had told him that the primroses were perennials, so they would bloom year after year, but the sight of the newly opening, pale blossoms made Finny's chest seize up.
Finny sniffed, dragging his sleeve across his face.
“Whatever is the matter?” asked Sebastian, calm yet puzzled voice coming from over Finny's shoulder. “The flowers are perfectly intact.”
“Yeah! I just…” It must sound silly, but Finny smiled through his tears. “We made it a whole year, and so did they.”
Sebastian, who was perfect at everything, also had a knack for figuring out what Finny actually meant versus what he said. “I see. A year of happiness, culminating in new life. I imagine you're going to be thrilled when the harvest comes back around.”
“Yes! Yes, exactly!” Finny beamed at Sebastian, expecting for Sebastian to go and find something more urgent to do, but even Sebastian was momentarily lost in thought. “Sir?”
“It's an odd thing for me to think, after the life I've lived,” admitted Sebastian. “But this is the longest I've ever stayed in one place as well.”

He looks like a mess. He looks more relaxed than Damian’s ever seen him.
(Tim drops off the face of the earth, leaving a Drake-sized hole in the family. Damian’s the last person anyone would have expected to fix it.)

It's a delicate balance, to help the world's greatest detective without drawing too much of his attention, but Tim can't risk Batman discovering his parents' very illegal collection of ancient artifacts.
At least, until his parents begin behaving strangely and Tim's investigation finds him at the center of a plot that threatens the entire city. The only way to save Gotham is for Tim to reach Batman, but doing so means losing everything he knows.
