Summary
Elrond has his own, strange quest to embark upon before leaving Middle-earth. He has not seen his foster father in thousands of years. Though Maglor is said to wander by the sea, no one has heard any news of him in an Age.
Elrond does not seek to find or destroy any object, powerful or otherwise. What he wants is both more simple and more complex: to take his father with him, or wish him farewell. He does not know if Maglor can be found, but that will not stop him from making the attempt. The lonely shores call to him, and so does a song in the distance...
Written for the Tolkien Reverse Summer Bang 2020, this work is a collaboration, based on this illustration by mallornblossom (now felixwhetsel).

Summary
Three years have passed since the last time Celegorm caught sight of his cousin Aredhel at the edge of Nan Elmoth, and fearing something ill has befallen her, he goes to investigate. Within the forest he does not find his cousin, but instead her yoing son, alone and afraid.
Since he obviously can't leave him there, Celegorm figures the only option is to take him in as his own son.

After hearing tales of the impressiveness of the smith Eol's skills, Sauron heads to Nan Elmoth in hopes of stealing his secrets.
Upon getting there he's surprised to realize that Eol is part Maiar. He's even more surprised to find Eol wedded to Fingolfin's daughter Aredhel, and that she was pregnant.
Having long been curious about the mix of elven and Maiar heritage, Sauron decides he wants the child.
