The best part about Lon Lon is Malon.
All of the heroes love Malon. They have differing feelings on most of their brother’s families, but Malon is the singular person whom all adore without question. When they’re graced with a visit to the ranch, she always comes darting along with all the eagerness of a young girl, all but flying to her husband’s side. Time’s always ready for her, catching her with a kiss that half of them look away from and the other half smile after. Once their old man is greeted though, she’ll turn a smile on the rest of them, moving from hero to hero to give them a good looking over, smoothing clothes and ruffing hair, something sweet on her lips for each one of them before she is satisfied and guides them down to the ranch.
Malon is wonderful, and they love her.
Which is why, when they arrive on the ranch and she’s not running along towards them, isn’t even in sight, it’s the heroes that take off running, worry stirring inside all of them as they careen down the road, through the gates and thunder up the steps into the ranch house.
Something's up with Malon and the boys panic.

A stranger is in his face, peering at him with wide green eyes, framed by sun bleached hair and tanned skin. Their face is still round with baby fat and their hair is unkempt and wind swept. "Ahoy there Pinkie!" They harped, their young voice thick with an accent that so strongly resembled the stereotypical pirate that it felt fake. "Finished havin' yer beauty sleep?"
Legend squints at them. Partially from how bright the goddess damned sun is, and partially from the beauty sleep comment. "No." He settles on answering with, batting their hands away from his face. "Maybe I wasn't finished. Now leave me be."
(Or, Legend, seperated from the group, washes up on an unfamiliar island with unfamiliar people. He really wishes he could stop starting things like that.)

Summary
The thing about secrets that Red would say he hates the most is the fact that lying and deflecting is a key component in keeping them. Red would also say that he respects his brother's privacy, so he understands why they kept Fours secrets, but that didn't change the fact that Red hates lying.
So Red had no choice but to watch as his brothers lie, lie, lie and hope that they wouldn't end up in “their” Hyrule, because no matter what his brothers say, it's hard to scheme and lie when Four wouldn't be able to hide the fact that he knew almost nothing about his time, and his time knew almost nothing about him.
