In the rest of those dreams, Sam plummets to earth, wingless, then breaks. He tells himself often that they’re only dreams, that Sam is capable and skilled far beyond any combat-abled civilian he’s ever known. He reminds himself each time Sam’s in a fight that the suit is more than sufficient protection, that every fiber of vibranium absorbs impact and directs it away from Sam. Away.
