Ryland Grace never considered himself to be the best guy to ask about gender. Sure, he lived in San Francisco, and he was the cool teacher, always priding himself in being understanding and making his class safe space for all of his students, including the queer kids who needed it. Rocky arches a brow and steps inside the copy room, which seems to charge up the air despite the preexisting smell of hot paper and toner. “Look, Mr. Grace,” he says, trying to keep his posture open and casual even though Grace is nearly a hand taller than him. “I didn’t mean to roll up like gangbusters on your copy room racketeering gig, I was just trying to learn the lay of the land and get my sheets prepped for the kids. But I’ll mosey on down to the math department and put my formal order in if need be.”
Grace rolls his jaw like he’s got a marble in his mouth, and now that they’re closer Rocky can make out the bright blue of his eyes and the gold in his lashes. Damn, he’s a good looking son of a bitch, if only he didn’t have a stick jammed so far up his pert little—
