You chose to kill the rebels rather than help them. There’s nothing I can do to help you anymore. So yes, you’re my enemy. And you need to leave.’ She turns away again, starting down the flight of steps that lead away from the cliff. The water in the pool undulates as her footsteps peter out, and Kylo stares into the pool, at his reflection, the scarred, damaged face that doesn’t even come close to portraying the conflict within. The face of the First Order. He hates it more than he ever has.

It’s a broad and useful power, one that could take Iwaizumi down any number of paths in the future. He’s discovered his ability early, too, and all of the adults in the neighborhood say that he’s got a bright future ahead of him.
Oikawa could’ve told them that ages ago—he’s always known Iwaizumi is special, long before he started being able to lift furniture with one hand. Everything Iwaizumi does, Oikawa has always done with him. So he goes home and waits for his own ability to manifest.
Nearly ten years later, on the eve of the last tournament of his high school volleyball career, he’s still waiting.

Kise waits. When Midorima says nothing else, Kise prompts, "That's it?"
"What else were you expecting?"
Letting out a deep breath, Kise collapses on the table and slams his tea glass as if it were a pint of beer. "I don't know," he grouches, "something that doesn't sound like a Natsume Soseki novel? Your story is so dull I can't even get drunk to it." He considers it carefully, then adds, "But at least it makes me feel better about myself."
"Fuck you, Kise," Midorima snaps.

He’s different from the first person, of this Yuri is certain. He jolts slightly when the man pronounces his full name, and he finds an absurd amount of comfort in his voice. It’s soft and warm, with a stoniness that could rival Yakov’s and Lilia’s, and his accent makes it endearing as hell. A small flame slowly starts to burn inside of Yuri for reasons he can’t possibly fathom. It’s just a man’s voice, and a stranger’s to boot, but he feels significantly better already.
