Summary
There’s a sound itching at the back of his mind, a soft repetition that’s forcing Pure Vanilla’s eyes back open with its unfamiliarity. He mumbles a groan, pushing himself up in bed as he brushes back the hair from his forehead and reaches for the staff beside him. As his hand finds purchase, he lifts it up high and scans the room around him.
Pure Vanilla’s vision may still be blurred from blinking back sleep, but there’s a familiar blue form seated at his dresser.
“Shadow Milk Cookie?”
The form turns; bright white hair sways from the movement, spilling over slender shoulders and adorned with a large blue bow. Sharp eyes peer at him, framed by an unkind smile curved in a smirk.
“Aw,” is all but sneered. “Miss him already?”

It’s quaint, in a nauseating sort of way. Polished floors glint from the gleaming honeycomb chandeliers overhead, make him squint. A few vases sprinkled here and there, filling the room with a sickeningly sweet scent – even a waffle-cone headrest framing the silken sheets of a neatly-tucked bed. Outside, the golden sun gleams, the gentle rays of light spilling past curtains that waver in the afternoon breeze.
It's meant to be beautiful. Luxurious. Welcoming.

It's a topic of heavy debate within the scientific community:

So, it's quite an achievement for Captain Aventurine's crew aboard the Domina Fortuna when a beautiful, young sea creature is hauled onto the deck late one evening. Such close encounters with merfolk are a rarity, and it's under Aventurine's watchful eye that Sunday is to be delivered to the I.P.C. for the sake of his scales to further such research.
That's all significantly easier said than done as the lines between them begin to blur, and both parties find themselves painfully aware of the fast-approaching deadline that lingers on the horizon and the strange similarities that bind them.

Escape Attempt 16 goes a little something like this:
A man walks into Alcatraz with one goal in mind, and only one goal in mind. His husband-to-be is locked up for murder, and he is going to get him out. Because Roier is a man in love, and Cell is going to love him back if it's the last thing he does.
But first, Cell says, he needs to go find some old friends and let them know he's out of prison. He's sure they'll be happy to see him. They were supposed to escape together, after all. He just got... left behind.
Roier has been waiting all his life to find his soulmate, he can wait a few more weeks to marry him. By then, Cell might even love him back, and won't that be wonderful?

Pac shudders. Once he’s out that door again, they’re no longer dealing in yes’s and no’s and discussing boundaries and handling formalities. Pac can beg all he wants, and unless he says something from a handful of select words, there will be no stopping Cellbit once he’s on the hunt.
He takes one look at Cellbit and adrenaline surges through his veins, telling him to bolt like a frightened rabbit. And once he’s given the word, he will.
Cellbit glances down at his watch. “Five minute head start.” He nods towards the door. “Go.”
Pac is on his feet and running for the door in a second, and then he’s sprinting out into the night as fast as his legs will carry him.

Apart, they’re a mess of bloodthirst and bloodshed. Together, blood spills in a different hue.

Summary
Michael is on his fifth bedtime story of the night.
Don't get Tubbo wrong, it's nice that Michael reads. Really nice. He and Ranboo are both thrilled over how curious Michael is, how much he loves learning about the world - it makes him proud to see his kid begging to be read to.
But, admittedly... Five stories is a bit much.

After a minute or so of this person staring at the medicine while Tubbo stared at them, he starts to get a bit bored. So, he clears his throat, and says in a conversational voice, “They sell pretty damn good Tylenol here, don’t they?”
They jump, clearly taken aback by Tubbo’s appearance. They blink at him once before nodding slowly, clearing their throat.
“Isn’t, uh, most Tylenol the- the same everywhere?”

Tubbo is an accidental part of a kind-of family, worn tennis shoes firmly planted on the sidelines as a ticking time clock mocks the day his stolen life will crumble, shoved under the floorboards of his best friend's attic. In the waiting process, he meets a seventeen year old severely lacking in both memory and effective hair dye, who defines himself as the spaces between notebook pages and part-time jobs.
Like this, Tubbo meets Ranboo, who, despite everything, may be Tubbo's most worthwhile pit stop in his journey to survival yet.
(Or, a high school AU in which finding home and staying afloat are two tasks you can't shoulder at once, but there are other people who will carry the world with you, if you can muster the bitter task of giving it up first.)
