Potter’s eyebrows furrow as he takes in Draco’s shabby appearance, like seeing it up close is worse than seeing it from the stands. His eyes pause on Draco’s head above his eyes, the blond cannot tell if he is looking at his discolored greasy hair or the dirt caked onto his forehead.
Yes, he is filthy Draco wants to shout, yes this is the result of sitting in a nasty cell for four months. So what?! Find one person who does not look just as bad for not having bathed in months, he dares you. He is still Draco Malfoy!
Only the Malfoy name no longer holds any power. It is about as meaningful as the dirt flaking off Draco’s prison uniform.
Draco wants to sneer, wants to hex, yell, do something so he does not feel like he is under scrutiny. His embarrassment rises as Potter refuses to take his eyes off of him.
What is he looking for?! For the Dark Mark to suddenly appear on his forehead?
OR
Soulmate AU where the scars of your soulmate appear on your skin after your eighteenth birthday. Draco did not realize that he turned eighteen while in Azkaban and only realizes how much time has passed during his trial. But why is Harry Potter of all people speaking up for him?

The Wizengamot in its wisdom determined at his trial that Draco ought to return to Hogwarts to scrape together a few NEWTs and perhaps even a sense of community and fellow feeling amongst all the other children, rather ragged round the edges--and a good deal in the middle--battered and burnt and even orphaned in the war. And with a choice between the school he had outgrown and a cosy cell in Azkaban, Draco plumped for school.
Draco returns to Hogwarts for 8th year and finds himself a pariah. To his surprise, Harry Potter is the only person who seems to want anything to do with him.
