“Good job, Neal,” Peter said, hauling the perp up after he’d been cuffed. He handed the criminal off to Jones and slapped Neal on the back a few times. “Come on, you’re too sick to be out here.”

“Sorry,” Neal said as he buckled his seatbelt. “Overslept.” He rubbed at his eyes as Peter pulled out into traffic and began the commute to the office.
“You okay? You look tired.” Peter glanced over at his partner.
Neal nodded. “I am tired.”
“Well, we’ll get you some office coffee and wake you up a bit, how does that sound?” Peter smirked, knowing exactly what Neal’s response would be.
“That sounds terrible, actually. No, thanks.” Neal sipped his own lovely Italian roast and watched the city go by.
