Summary
He hasn't seen Lewis the rest of the winter break, not since he saw him enter his house. Hugo haven't answered any of his masseges, and he send dozens.
Saying that Fern was worried would have been understatment od the year.
He would have come to Lewis house but before Lewis left he asked him not to do it, and he didn't want to break his promise, no matter how worried he was.
He thought that after learning that their mothers were best friends Lewis would be more willing to talk about what was going on, that after learning that his uncle was always a dick he could finaly tell him what was slowly killing him. But it didn't. It did exacly opposite think.
After that breakfast that his mother told them everythink Lewis got more distant, and when they drove to his home he was basically an empty shell.
Nothing with that sat right with him, thats why he felt so happy when he saw Hugo at school.
That was until Lewis turn around.

After eight weeks they took the cast off and he couldn’t move his leg. At all. The mobility he had now was almost a miracle compared to those first two years. The nurses and doctors explained their befuddlement over and over and kept him in that damn bed for so long.
He swallowed. The smell of hospitals, of antiseptic, of dry food, of alcohol wipes, and old woman's tears flooded his nostrils and head. He gagged and stuck his nose in his pillow despite the way twisting aggravated his body. The hair oil and the lily moisturizer Mary got for him evened his breath.
He could not handle it again. He could not. He could not go back to the hospital. He could not lose the use of his arm like he lost the use of his leg. He couldn’t, he couldn’t, he couldn’t, he couldn’t.
_____________________This fic is either a no powers AU or the kids did not get their powers back. I did not love the way that the Shazam movies handled disability so here I am with a blank google doc.

“Then, why…?” Eddie trailed off, and watched as Richie seemed to debate with himself on what to say next. His gaze flicked back and forth between Eddie’s eyes and he bit his lip. He squeezed Eddie’s hands before he spoke.
“You got hurt, Eds,” Richie finally said, and his voice cracked on Eddie’s name. Eddie’s breathing began to pick up again as Richie spoke. “It was bad. But you’re okay now, I promise. You just have to remember, now.”

Eddie Kaspbrak could feel it pressing on his chest as he biked, the sun beating down on the top of his helmet, sweat trickling into the collar of his shirt. He didn’t tell anyone he hadn’t taken his meds. It was the first day he hadn’t, so it didn’t seem too important of a detail to add. He was just paranoid.

When a group of strangers (some familiar with each other) find themselves being the sole survivors of a world wide mass extinction and now in an apocalyptic waste land with no power, no food, no recolition on how they came to be there and what it seems to be no sense of civilisation, they learn that maybe they shouldn’t take life for granted, or maybe, they should be more courteous with their lives. Can this group of strangers help not only themselves, but others to try and save what's left of humanity, and retrieve back their old lives before they are the next ones to go extinct?
With this new coming of mass-extinction, this group of people have to put their biggest weaknesses aside and put their strengths together to save the world, but when drama between people, old friendships remembered, relationships destroyed and finding out about families comes through the cracks, this group has to learn to push past the good, the bad, and the ugly, before they are the next group gone.
