Summary
Marcy wasn’t a very good friend these days. Being distant from the two of them made it all too easy. She often spent days feeling paralysed, letting them text and text before she finally sent a single measly reply. She hadn’t told them she’d been kicked out of her last school, or that she needed crutches on bad days, or that she couldn’t sleep for more than two hours at a time. It all felt too… embarrassing to admit. Besides, she didn’t want sympathy. It would feel awful to have them fuss over her when she knew everything that happened was her fault anyway.
(Not all of it, her mind scolded in a voice that sounded a lot like Colette’s. You made some terrible mistakes, but it was his choice to hurt you. You can’t blame yourself for someone else’s actions.)
Logically, Marcy knew that was true. She still wanted to blame herself.

The voice was rich, leathery, and smooth, a controlled belt from the chest of the woman on stage. Mira imagined she could see the concentration in the woman’s closed eyes and furrowed brow, if the stage lights weren’t hitting her from behind, shrouding her in a golden silhouette.
Every bar was effortless. Every note an odyssey.
Mira looked at Zoey. The girl was just as transfixed. More so than Mira, even. But then, Zoey’s attunement to the Honmoon was much stronger than Mira’s. Zoey often said the Honmoon kind of felt like the Ocean from Moana. Mira had never seen it so she had to take Zoey’s word for it.
The Honmoon rippled.

She ignored how it landed against the leather of Sasha’s nicer work shoes, instead eagerly poking around in her bag for Anne’s ice-cream as she squelched down the hallway. “I had to ask the clerk if they had it in stock, and you’re a lucky son of a bitch cause they had one left! And there was this deal going that if you got two pints you got a thi-oh.”
Marcy stopped short at the entrance to the living room, finally catching on to why it had been so quiet. Slowly she leant against the doorframe, unable to bite back the fond smile taking over her face...

Summary
18 year olds, Anne, Sasha and Marcy are using the Calamity Box to transport to Newtopia Castle when the portal goes haywire. The three are split and thrown into the past, ending up with their younger counterparts the night of Hop Till You Drop. With no apparent way home and a half explanation from their deity, the guardian, they start to realise differences between this timeline and their own.
Helping their younger counterparts along the way, the calamity warriors of the future must fix the timeline, rejoin as a group, maybe set up the younger three and find a way back home. Although, revealing too much or changing traumatizing events could ruin their chances at making it home forever.

“Is this where it… happened?” His voice is quiet.
Anne freezes. Her eyes go tense, trapped. Looking for a way out. But she sighs, forcing herself to let the tension go, and twists around to sit with her shoulders against the bench, dropping her hands into her lap. Sprig sits on the bench next to her head, his legs dangling over the edge. She glances over at him.
“How’d you figure that out?”
“Well,” Sprig says, hesitating. He doesn’t want to give her a reason to shut down again. “You… kinda look like you’ve seen a ghost.”
