"Are you alright?" He asks, his voice deceptively steady. Apo can hear how his pace quickens. His heart pounds endlessly against his ribs, like a rabbit caught in a trap. It draws Apo in like a siren's call.
Skin tears as Apo curls her hand into a fist. She digs her claws in as deep as she can manage, the pain keeping her grounded. This is the middle of town, she reminds herself. Keep it together.
"Just— getting something to eat." She forces out.

oh my god.
This is so so beautifully and excellently written im going to be thinking about this for DAYS.
I wanted to read a kuzumira fic for a while now but hadn’t gotten around to it and this was the FIRST one I’ve read. I highly doubt anything will EVER live up to the characterization that is displayed in this fic so magnificently.
I adore this fic with all my heart.
(Was jumpscared by the untagged smut but that is forgiven in the aftermath of the beauty of this fic)
I need to lie down.

All of them knew how far U-1146 would go to hide his injuries, pushing himself to the brink until the injuries piled up and he could no longer move, or all of them overpowered that son of a Killer T Cell just to drag his paper-white ass to the nearest cleaning station for treatment.
So when a certain red blood cell got involved in their daily lives, the squad charted a plan (most of the ones from U-4989 got rejected point-blank) to milk it for all its worth.

But now, as he stood at a time nearing the middle of the night. Hands resting now numbly on a freezing metal bar as wind violently whipped his hair every which way; the sound of water beneath the bridge he stood upon rushing loudly in his ears, he decided it was different.
Alternatively: Tsukasa is so, so tired, and decides one night that death will be his only solace from the thoughts which plague him. Can the virtual singers and his troupmates show him just how wrong he is about everything before it's too late?

When she has company, the door of the fridge is looked upon like a slowly-growing memorial, proof that she has lived a good, long life, and she has, really, but she'd much prefer to live a great one since she has the time. And frankly, as far as she can tell, she's doing a fine job of that.
