Thanks to poor residential development planning, Ed can see directly into his next-door neighbor's house. When a handsome blond man moves in, Ed tries his best to be neighborly.

The houses in the development are too close together. Ed doesn't care for that, but with the market the way it was at the time he needed to relocate, he had to take what he could get. The house is fine, the neighborhood is quiet, and if his living room window has a direct sightline into one room of his next-door neighbor’s house, well, that’s between the developers and God. The previous owners hadn’t used that particular room much, anyway. It might have started out as a spare bedroom, but they rarely seemed to have visitors, so it just filled up with junk, which was eventually packed into moving boxes. Now the room is empty, although the For Sale sign has just come down, so Ed supposes a new owner will be moving in soon. Not that Ed cares. He mostly keeps to himself.
