Summary
He had always had a path, a set of murky clues to puzzle over and someone to save. A stone to seek, a chamber to break into, a dementor to fight. There was no shortage of cryptic riddles and deadlines, spells to learn and Quidditch cups to win. He had Horcruxes and Hallows to hunt and destroy. Harry had a path to follow and an answer.
And now the quest is over. And the fight was fought. Harry grieved like the rest, but everyone moved on. Hogwarts was rebuilt and he declined a job from the ministry.
Harry had become domesticated. He had adopted a cat and he spent his afternoons looking forward to the next day. He felt his body ache disproportionately to his age. Harry found his knuckles harder to crack and his jaw stiff.
Harry was happiest when he was laughing with Ron, he adored the lazy Saturdays or the late Wednesday night when Ron would come home late and covered in rain with his fingers glued to each other from broom adhesive.

Harry is moving into 12 Grimmauld place with Ron, they get married, everyone seems to move on from the war. Harry feels stuck in his own head. Frozen in time.

Summary
It was his sixth year, the Friday of Winter Break. Harry was in Slughorn's potion class, utterly phoning it in. He was exhausted- it was the last class before dinner and everyone left for the train out of Hogwarts for Christmas break.
It was this time of year that he missed Sirius the most. He liked Christmas, even more so at Hogwarts. He was no longer forced into a storage container to pretend he did not exist from Christmas eve through boxing day.

Harry would dig his nails into his palms when he was scared, he would bite his lips when he was embarrassed. He would pull his hair when he was frustrated.
As he got older, his tolerance changed as did his strategy. He didn’t like the questions about the wounds he scratched through his skin arose. He hid it on his thighs, to relieve the stress and pain in his head he needed to feel it physically.

Summary
Petunia may suffer the boy to live under her roof and come into her care, but she will not let him ruin everything she’s built. She is a normal woman with a normal family and a very normal life.
It is, she defends as she clears out the cupboard under the stairs and puts together a little bedroom for the boy there, a good protection for the boy too.
She doesn’t trust whatever magic has been put over him to actually protect them.
What better protection is there for both the boy and for her family than for no one to know he’s even here. Not the neighbours, not the freaks trying to hunt down a baby, and not anyone else who might come looking for him either.
