The event was getting dull fast. Scott had only decided on attending to get caught up on the latest gossip about the rest of the vampire elite, but everyone was being close lipped.
He's sure it has something to do with Lord Holden's mopey attitude. The man was the one hosting the event, but he looks like he would rather be anywhere else. Scott has no interest in Lord Holden or whatever is causing his bad mood, but his eyes keep straying over to him regardless. Or rather, over to the human trailing behind him.

The man hovering over him leaned back, releasing Grian completely. Cold night air rushed in to fill the void.
“I guess it’s out in the open now,” the stranger hummed. “Shame. I wanted to avoid this.”
With the additional glow occupying the space between them, Grian was finally able to catch features that were lost in the prior darkness. His curiosity outweighed all else, and he drank them in greedily. As soon as he saw who sat across from him, alarms blared in his mind.
This man wasn’t a civilian, wasn’t even a hero.
“Hello, Doctor,” the villain mused. “You were quite the help today.”

What if Martyn fleeing from Apo ended up a bit differently, what if an elder vampire who was currently high in his sire instincts was keeping a closer eye on Apo than he let on, was kinder to his coven than he let on, and offered a much better cut than he saw the humans give his fledgling, a deal Apo couldn't refuse.

"I stepped out of my workshop for just a moment the other day to send a message back to Athena, and when I came back, there was a small puppy absolutely devouring my honey stores. I can't even blame him, they were fresh from the combs and stacked on the floor beside the door just asking to be eaten. I hadn't even gotten a chance to take them inside yet. I expected him to leave after he finished raiding my sweets, but he just stuck around, watching me work. It's been a couple of days now, and he’s still hanging around. He sleeps in the workshop under my desk, and yesterday he even followed me home when I went to get something to eat. He’s too young to speak very much, but the way he looks at me… it's wonderful."

Dr. Legundo hasn't been the same for the past 30 years. Much more of him changed from the war than he would have liked. Just wanting to start anew, he continues his role as a traveling doctor and stops by a small town called Oakhurst. The town seems abandoned except for 15 other travelers he finds that were also drawn there. He's trying to keep his curse under control, but it’s hard when he's surrounded by people basically starting their own civilization and there's no way out.
Avid has a rude awakening. Well, not rude because Elle, his fledgeling and best friend woke up along with him. They'd been asleep for the past 200 years after some vampires and a witch with a grudge cursed them and Elle into an eternal slumber. It seems the slumber wasn't as eternal as they thought, and now 14 other people reside in the, now abandoned, town he once called home. It doesn't help that there's a fledgeling much younger than him there that looks about the same age that Avid was when he was turned. And, this fledgling's sire is nowhere in sight. Now, Avid is trapped for who knows how long because of the idiot humans that consecrated the beacons.
