Ever since Chat Noir opened up to Ladybug about his family troubles, barely a day has gone by where she wasn't racking her brain for some way she could help him. Unfortunately, in the weeks since their meeting under the Crying-Tree, she has come up with nothing.
Nothing, except for one very, very bad plan. But with every day marking another opportunity for Chat Noir's deadbeat dad to push him over the edge and into akumatization, the time has come for the nuclear option: the one thing they both swore they'd never do. The time has come for the masks to drop. Maybe then, with everything out in the open, they could work together to help him. The risks of doing nothing were starting to overshadow the risks of them knowing.
Only... perhaps the middle of an akuma battle was the wrong time to be dwelling on all this. After all, if she isn't focused, someone could get hurt.

Will starts a habit of sleeping in Mike's room.
Without a word, Mike reaches out and lightly grabs Will's jaw. He tilts his head up, down, side to side, studying every angle. There's no way he can't feel Will's pulse beating fast and hard against his hand, but either way, he doesn't comment on it.
"Hmm", sneaks out of Mike's mouth.
"Hmm?", Will can only parrot back.
Now he studies Will's eyes, trying to commit their shape and hue to memory - trying to erase memories of Will's possessed dark, clouded eyes. His Will, but not.
Will softens in his grasp and opens himself to Mike's gaze, no longer trying to steel himself from the moment, hide himself away. Just present, just here.
And something in Mike softens, too.
"There you are," Mike whispers.
This is hungry work.

He hugged her tighter, emotion caught in his throat—until the sound of cameras clicking below made him stiffen. “Uh, Bug?”
She followed his gaze, then laughed, flicking his bell.
“Hey!” Adrien protested, flushing.
“So you’re telling me,” she teased, “that after six years of being photographed, this is what makes you flustered?”
He shrugged, face burning.
Ladybug’s laughter filled the air. “Oh, Kitty. What am I to do with you?”

But their college is two blocks apart, and their walls are pale blue and soft yellow, and Will has hanged his beautiful paintings all over their living-room. Mike gets to walk with Will to his faculty every morning, and gets to see Will half-asleep on their couch, and gets to sit on the floor with him and watch movies they’ve watched a million times on their TV. He gets to write silly notes and leave them everywhere on their apartment for Will to find and respond with doodles of his own. Mike has never been happier.
OR: Mike and Will move in together after the end of the world. Mike is a hopeless loser in love, and Will is just as helplessly whipped.
