Summary
So she begins to explain that much, shrugging her shoulders. “Well, we could–”
But Kris stops her with a swift suggestion of their own. “Try on clothes in changing rooms and rate each other's outfits on a scale of one to ten?”
It’s spoken with glitter in their eyes and a burning fire in their chest. It doesn’t take knowing Kris extraordinately well to realise that they’re really into this concept.
Susie's eyebrows furrow. Not what she had been thinking of, but the idea doesn't actually seem like the worst thing in the world. She raises a finger to the bottom of her chin, considering, before allowing a beam to consume her cheeks.
“You know what,” she utters. “Hell yeah.”
Kris & Susie venture out into the big city. They don't know how they end up in a thrift store, trying on the most hideous of outfits, but they do. And it's surprisingly fun.

Summary
The creature stops at her feet.
It stares up, and the moon’s illumination is enough for Dess to be able to point out a feature or two on the thing. Tall, sharp, cat-like ears, and a tail that points at the very end.
She doesn’t quite know what this thing is, but she can tell that it’s some form of punishment. A result of her crime.
When you have a bat, everything looks like a ball.

Summary
“H-Hi..” Noelle mumbles. She holds her hand out for their taking, and braces herself for whatever impact is about to follow.
Their expression doesn’t change. It’s like they’re some kind of doll, standing there prettily – unmoving, serious.
But then they take her hand, flicking their head to one side. The swift movement causes their bangs to fall somewhat out of place, revealing a bright red eye from beneath that mop of loose hair strands. It burns bright like a lit flame as their palms connect, a devilish grin consuming their face.
They don’t exchange any pleasantries – don’t offer a ‘hello’, or introduce themself. They stand, hands intertwined, smiling creepily. It doesn’t take much longer from then on out for them to begin shaking Noelle’s hand. Though, they’re using such ferocity that Noelle feels her arm begin to tire as they drag it on and on.
“Togore, be nice!” Toriel calls from a distance, the usual sweetness of her tone tinged with a bitter kind of frustration.
An overview of Kris and Noelle as they grow up, taking roles that don't belong to them.

Summary
But in the place of those stars, they notice there’s now another figure beside them. It’s one that’s familiar, belonging to their best friend, with lavender skin and long locks of aubergine hair. Her jacket isn’t haphazardly thrown around her shoulders, instead resting firmly in her palms. She holds it up, like she’s just won some sort of prize.
Kris’ gaze scours across her, noticing how her white t-shirt had been sullied with rain; how the droplets had escaped into those holes onto her jeans. They’d travelled down her legs, seeping into the material. They’re both truly and utterly soaked.
It doesn’t take long for her to realise she’d been caught, where she utters out an unsteady sigh. Most other times, she’d offer up a smile as she’d take a seat next to them – laughter consuming the two as they’d bash and clash against one another.
But this time, she merely tightens her lips, and breaks the silence. “.. Need a hand?”
Just two friends alone in the rain. What could possibly happen?

Summary
Noelle wears little angel wings whenever she gets the chance.
She sports them at Hometown’s halloween party, combining them with a pristine, white dress and party shoes with little bows on them. She’s got snowflake-patterned tights and a halo headband – all things rather representative of her as a person.
After all, Noelle is an angel.

Summary
"Oh, you're in for it now," she says. Her voice is low and rumbly as she starts to roll up a massive, downright gangantuan, even, snowball, that would certainly be absolutely ruinous if it were to hit—half their height, even.
With her lumbering strength, she picks it up, and chucks it right at them.
Kris... steps to the side.
It's the first day of December, and Kris needs to get out of their head a little. Susie helps.

Summary
Susie stood at the lake’s edge, alone.
The last time she’d been here was with Kris. Back then, Kris’ presence seemed to cut right through the cold dark of the night, their gentle smile and bright eyes illuminating Susie’s world.

Summary
Noelle was having a rather strange dream. She’d been kidnapped, fought and spared monsters, and dealt with a Berdly somehow even more headache-inducing than he was in real life. In the midst of all of the chaos, she found herself somehow ending up alone with Kris. Of all people, her estranged friend was the one her mind decided to force her to travel with. How ironic.
Or, Noelle plays dress up with her ex-best friend. Yearning ensues.

Summary
And in the margins of their list of what Mom knows as "Reasons I Want To Live", they think to themself, and, in normal ink, write ‘Berdly’, before immediately retracting with guilt. Berdly is not a reason Kris wants to end their life. Berdly is just annoying.
—"Oh, Kris, classic tsun-dere move! Aha! But I see your hidden affections... You'll have to try harder than that to win over my fairest Noelle!"
Okay, wait, nevermind. Sure, he doesn’t actually make them want to kill themself—that’s why he’s not in the list. But he’s been annoying them so much that he’d probably come very close. And so, remembering his godawful lines, Kris resolves to add his name in the margin, again, and again, until it's scrawled all over like a kid writing their crush's name in the margins of schoolwork. Doesn't help that the pen this time is pink.
Kris keeps a not-so-carefully curated collection of all their miseries, written in a notebook meant to show their mom what gives them hope, the truth scrawled in brackets and invisible ink.
(Or—the story of how Kris lost and found their hope again, told with the aid of a very, very misleading journal.)

Or, five times Kris’ OCD gets the better of them, and one time it doesn’t.
