“Take a breath."
“I’m breathing just fine.”
“Yeah?” He Tian’s thumb slides up, slow and steady, pressing just under the line of his throat. “Then why’s your pulse going crazy?”
Guan Shan jerks his head back, but it’s not a full retreat, rather a recoil with no destination.
“You want me to stop?” he asks quietly.
Silence.
“I want you to shut the fuck up and do something.”
He Tian grabs his throat. Just enough to hold him there- chin up, mouth half open, pulse thudding wildly beneath his fingers. Guan Shan freezes, the resistance pulsing in his muscles, but he doesn’t pull away. He just breathes sharper, shallower. He Tian leans in with intention, his mouth near Guan Shan’s ear, his words dragging slow like teeth across skin.
"You always fight me like you don’t want to lose. But you already did the second you got in my car.” -

Michael stepped closer to Will, until he was nearly pressed against his side. He looked at him, head tilted down to meet his gaze. His boots made him taller, making the height difference he and Mike shared even more pronounced. Will shivered when he felt a hand press against his lower back.
“My choices are yours, my prince. If you would like me to distance myself, I will do so without hesitation. Would you like that?”
Will stared, mouth agape. Michael’s eyes were boring into his soul. Mike had never looked at him like that, and it was doing things to him. Slowly, he shook his head.
Michael smirked, looking pleased.
“Hey,” Mike snapped. “I said back off, okay?”When an alternate version of Mike, a strong, confident knight, appears in Hawkins, the Party attempts to help him get home, and Will attempts to survive his flirting.

“That’s not my favorite.”
“Oh.” Will blinks. “What is?”
Mike’s tongue darts out to wet his lower lip. “O negative.” Will feels a flush move across his entire body. His magic hums inside of him, excited. His fingers twitch against the carton. Maybe Will was wrong, maybe this is different than having a favorite kind of pizza. More personal. O negative sits differently in Will’s head than double black olives with extra cheese does. More intimate.
“Oh.” Will blinks again. And maybe O negative sits differently in Will’s head, because it also flows through his veins. He feels obligated to tell Mike. “I’m O negative.”
Mike’s pupils widen again. “I know.” His voice is low, gravelly.
Will’s breath hitches again. “You know?” He flinches when Mike’s fingers graze his, peeling the carton out of Will’s hand.
Mike takes a deep breath. “I can smell it.”
Or, five times that Will offered Mike his blood and the one time that Mike accepted.

“Just saying, if you’re taking another hit, you should share it with me,” Mike says, and Will slowly tilts his head, drinking in every word. “It just makes sense. Like, mathematically.”
Will’s reddened eyes narrow, bewildered. “Mathematically?”
“If there’s two hits left, we’d each only get one,” Mike explains. “But if we shotgunned, we’d both get two.” God, this is the best idea he’s had in ages. He should’ve stolen Will’s weed, like, months ago. “That’s like, bang for your buck. This is simple math, Will Byers. Keep up.”
In which it’s well past midnight in New York, Will can’t sleep, and Mike feels like they barely know each other anymore.
So, they get a little high. Mike is very normal about all of it.

There’s something wrong with Will.
It started three weeks ago, almost four. Will had woken from some sort of nightmare and, instead of seeking comfort in Mike the way he usually would, he’d rolled out a sleeping bag from the closet and chosen to sleep on the floor.
No one believes Mike, except for Joyce. But even she doesn’t understand the full extent to which something is wrong with Will.
Mike understands, though. Mike has been paying attention.

"I'm actually so excited to have you live with us," Will said giddily.
"You are?"
Mike hoped it didn't sound as pathetic to them as it did to him.
Will grinned at him. "For sure. I can finally do something about that hair of yours."
Despite himself, Mike laughed out loud, cherishing the taunting.
It was going to be fine. If he could have this Will by his side again, he could take other men having their way with him a thin wall away from Mike. Couldn't he?
Or: Will gives Mike a little bit of tough love, encouraging him to stop wasting his life. Mike moves in with Will and Dustin in New York only to realize that Will has a very - very - active sex life. Mike is okay with it for about three nanoseconds before he loses his mind, regretting every choice he ever made and desperately wishing it was him there with Will.

‘Sure,’ Will says, a mix of sceptical and amused. ‘Um—thanks? I miss you too.’
The words send a restless flurry through Mike’s stomach, something that feels suspiciously like butterflies, or moths—justice for moths, okay—and it’s not so bad. The warmth that shoots through his body isn’t so bad, either, and even though it’s two days until winter starts, he’s now hot all over. Not necessarily in the itchy, humid way he gets during the summer, but a comforting way, like a warm blanket or a hug, and he—God, he misses Will.
Mike really needs to get a hold of himself over that.

It’s hard to tell whether he’s just joking around, or if there are actually parts of Izuku that he hates. If he means to touch him the way he does, staying so close by when others keep their distance. Or if it’s all a sham, in some way — like their friendship is nothing but another thing for him to indulge in, greedily, taking small bites at a time, whenever it suits him. In the way that only Kacchan can.
