“Huh? So you weren’t even into him?”
“I’d only just met him. I wasn’t into anything. He's the same as everyone else my father picks.”

Chuuya shook her head disbelievingly and huffed. When she was amused, the left side of her mouth would twitch revealing a small dimple.
“What?” Dazai inquired.
“It’s just… If that’s the case are you sure you even like guys?”
Dazai’s mouth worked to form words from an idea her mind hadn’t yet grappled with.

Two years after Dazai's death, Chuuya is the Boss of the Port Mafia, and things are going as well as anyone can expect. Until they're not.
"What--?" Chuuya manages, the word thick and throaty, too wet, too obvious. He blinks: what he's seeing doesn't change.
"Chuuya-kun, please come in," Mori says, conversationally. "If you could close the door behind him, Dazai-kun."
Chuuya's head whips around; Mori at the desk had been enough of a shock, but Dazai, curled up lazily in an armchair with a book, looking like a petulant housecat as he stands up, still covered in bandages with one eye visible, is enough to make Chuuya feel almost nauseated.
"Chuuya," Dazai says, the word a sing-song and nothing like the monotone way he'd said it when he was the Boss, "come on."

Maybe he did get sent to some fucked-up alternate universe.

If you ask Chuuya (the Chuuya of the present, not his younger, self-centered, asshole self, thank you very much), he’d really, really like the answer to be yes. Because if it’s no, he loses not just the bond, but any chance of rebuilding trust between them. He’s spent years running from the very thing he now fears losing. Chuuya’s not sure what to do anymore. He didn’t understand the bond, the consequences of his actions, and now, he’s starting to realize how fragile everything is between them.
