A pause. Slowly, Wade withdrew the spring roll and ghost-blinked up at Peter. He looked like a kid who got caught shoving the family dog into their own clothes. A swallow. Peter shuddered. From the cold. Obviously. "…Huh?"

Kon quickly got control of his laughter after Robin spoke. “So, you used to have a thing for this guy? What happened? Was it the Nightwing comment?” Kon’s smirk didn’t drown out the curiosity written so clearly on his face.
Inexplicably, Robin went bright red again. “Nothing happened! Nothing specific at least, I just… got over the guy! No crazy story there!” Definitely not because he found himself rapidly falling in love with his best friend, the very person asking him the question in the first damn place!"

You ignore him as you travel shelf by shelf in the royal library. An impossible task given his leather armor creaks and his weapons clink in their sheaths. Each step you take, shadowed by the heavy thud of a boot, completely destroying the quiet sanctity of the archive. You can tell it disturbs the other patrons. They side-eye and sigh and shift away, but they can’t say anything - you’re royalty, after all.
You stop at a shelf lined with thick, heavy-set books. Dragging a finger over gilded lettering pressed into the spines, you read the titles in search for one in particular. You stop on one especially large tome, bound in dyed leather and thicker than your forearm, and inch it out of its spot sandwiched between two others. Owing to its size, it’s quite heavy. You try not to show any ounce of struggle or exertion as you hold it in both arms.
“Shall I carry that for you, your highness?” You bristle at the sound of his voice. His hand appears in your peripheral, prepared to accept the burden.

Dick licks his lips. “Hey, Jay,” he says quietly, barely managing to keep above a whisper. “That would be nice. Yeah.”
He can hear the smirk in Jason’s voice. “You know what, I don’t particularly feel helpful today. That’s unfortunate.” He ruffles Dick’s hair, then stands, gesturing with his hand.
Dick blinks at him, and then he’s being scooped up by a very buff woman who is still careful of his leg. He turns his head to glare at Jason. “What are you doing?”
“I’m kidnapping you,” Jason says smugly. He pauses, turns, and takes Dick’s panic button from his belt, crushing it between his fingers. “You’re going to help me settle something.”

Jason squares his shoulders. “Y’can have him back once the Bat gives me my lieutenant back.”
“I don’t give a shit about your lieutenant. Put him back,” Tim snarls.
“How about no? I’m gonna use him to bargain. Remi said she wouldn’t take over for any longer than a week, what am I supposed to do after that?”
“Suffer. Die. I don’t give a fuck. Hand him over, he owes me lunch tomorrow and I’m not letting him get out of it again."

Batman is insulted during a Justice League mission, which wouldn't be a problem except Nightwing is there to hear it. The other League members don't know this is a problem because they have no idea Batman has kids, much less that Nightwing is one of them. Bruce decides to do the only reasonable thing: go on vacation. His children probably won't burn down anything too important.
Dick just wants to defend his family and brag about his siblings. Good thing his father taught him a few things about the importance of detailed plans and talented allies.
