Gwaine’s jaw drops a little open as he works it open and close furiously, speechless, before he laughs, squaring his shoulders back and lifting his chin back at Arthur, cocky, pretending to be cool and collected. “Oh yeah? You think you can handle me?”
Arthur looks him deep in the eyes. “Oh I can do so much more than handle you, darling. You. Me. Tonight. Right in my chambers.”

He catches Merlin staring at him sometimes; when they're riding through the woods for one thing or another, when he's training on the grounds, when he's sitting through a verbal beatdown at dinner.
He catches Merlin linger by his side. Though this, he is not too sure of. He tries to keep count when Merlin's hand warms the small of his back. But his heart flutters and he stumbles over the number as Merlin straightens out the shirt.
Wishful thinking, Arthur. he reminds himself, that's all it is.

Summary
merlin and arthur had an understanding. arthur would bark orders and merlin would snark then they would get work done. the only problem with merlin hating his boss was that his magic loved him. making his tea stay the perfect temp, summoning his favorite overseas candy, to fixing his bed head.
so when one day arthur start's acting nice, merlin panics, he doesn't know what to do with these coffees and lunches. the only reason he can think of that explains his boss's behavior is his magic has bewitched him to love him back despite what everyone says.
just because he needs to find a cure doesn't mean he has to do it right away, right?
aka merlin's up the nile, arthur is trying his best and will just want's to play dungeons and dragons

A tall, red-haired woman stepped forward, taking the lead of the group. She looked ethereal in the bright afternoon light. Her face was too perfect, too symmetrical to be completely human, and a strange glint shone in her green eyes. She was alluring, moving with controlled grace. When she spoke, her voice echoed, as if it came from all around them at once.
“You haven’t claimed him yet, not the proper way at least,” she retorted, her hungry gaze still trained on Arthur.
