Oh! Oh!!!! This is THE "Marianne is trans" work; it beautifully weaves together canon and fanon (Hilda and Edelgard are exes) and a bit of the author's personal touch. I didn't like how crests seem to be a physical object in the body here, and there are a couple spelling errors (gleam should be glean, e.g.), but on the whole the prose is delightfully stated, the dialogue clearly differentiates the characters and very much feels like their voices, and I love how much sense this coming-out story and romance make, even to an original narrative that didn't conceive of either in the slightest.

I am ALWAYS a slut for xenoconlanging, and this story echoes the best aspects of '60s-'00s sci-fi (with uhhhhh none of the glaring misogyny or bioessentialism) in retelling the Megillat Esther. The only thing I take issue with is characterizing it as "slow burn" when it is only 13kw - in all respects it is a lovely gay little Jewish story.

Wow, I was not expecting to like a fic about FE:3H characters as costumed gamers so VERY much
Love to see enemies-to-lovers, love to see a saturated tetrad that feels this natural, love to see multiple kinds of healing from trauma in ways that aren't just magically fixed all at once
The writing is full of errors, but they seem to be caused by not speaking English natively rather than by any lack of care or talent. The action flows from intimacy to intimacy, the omniscient narrative perspective suddenly contracting to give us snippets of characters' inner monologues - the pace is exactly what I look for in longfic.

A really great collection of Crimson Flower vignettes about Dorothea's relationship with Mercedes, the Blue Lions, and ESPECIALLY herself, told non-chronologically for the most part (I had to figure that out myself ;_;)
This piece is a wonderful & viscerally felt exploration of the trauma of being a destroyer more than a builder & wishing you were the reverse. Also, the kissing is REALLY cute and genuinely romantic without ever feeling fake or oversweet.

This piece joins my canon of HP AU longfics at a mere 0.35Mw...instead of rewriting the story foundationally, it comes in at a time when the original work is bloated under its own weight and adds GORDON RAMSAY???!?!!?!?? From there, intermural cooperation & sociopolitical explorations abound, and the proliferation of gay OCs (and a Cho Chang who's actually a character this time) makes this a fun and compelling read. Also Ramsay is basically nonexistent in the back half, if that's distasteful to u.
