He’s not entirely sure if it's caused by whatever Charlie's reading, or if it’s because he knows Nick’s staring at him, but either way Nick can’t help himself. Quickly, he leans in and presses a kiss to Charlie's cheek, just a small one. A peck, really. He doesn’t want to distract Charlie from his book, honest.

Charlie Spring is a poet/barista, working in the local queer coffee shop with Isaac and Sahar. The owners, Nathan and Youssef also use the shop to sell queer books and art, including a small book of erotic poems by Francis Primavera. Nick has just moved into the neighborhood after ending a relationship when they realized they were going in different directions. Trying to explore his new community, Nick picks up a few things to read at the local coffee shop. He can't help noticing the cute barista, but his heart (and libido) have been captured by an author he's never met. Or so he thinks.
